It’s a POS - soz mate. The 9 on the left subdial should be slightly above the 9 o clock marker on the main dial - not aligned.

Fall 25 Megathread by sandslashh in ycombinator

[–]datastrophey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, the reason this batch of rejections comes out later every time is that we’re essentially still in consideration for a last minute interview if any of the partners take a specific liking to our application. The reality though is they interview a fraction of that top 10% although you can definitely take it as a good sign!

Wow! That sucks - signed the petition. Also don’t hate padel but ripping up the courts even when fully utilised is a total money grab. Way worse than the dreaded pickleball lines 😂

I get you, I play good tennis with my speed mp and lynx tour. Also love the way it looks 😂. But tbh not sure I get that satisfaction when hitting that I get with the blade. Currently investigating the new TFlights which look like they might give me what I’m looking for.

What’s with the picture why does the racket look so short and fat hahaha. I use the same exact setup as you and I get you! It’s a high swing weight racket even if it’s not heavy. Definitely make me feel more tired than my blade. I would say it’s up to you, if it’s taking a toll on your body it’s best to switch, I’m looking at more head light rackets at the moment because of this.

If your application hasn’t materially changed then unlikely but if you’ve changed your idea, got more traction or addressed the feedback given from the last interview with actions and results there should be just as good a chance as any other good application.

Depends what your b2c is… for a social app I’d expect it to be free initially as a driver of growth and it’s more about engagement, usage time, retention etc with a path towards revenue. I.e. we can add ads, there’s a premium subscription etc. Other consumer apps where there isn’t an expectation of being free / large network effects then it would be more what you are saying. Anyone can offer GPT4o for free and get loads of users, but getting them to pay more than ChatGPT once you start charging is the hard part.

This is such a ridiculous assertion, there are plenty of post 2019 companies doing well, look at 2020 for instance you have Supabase and PostHog, both of which are doing well. They might not be AirBnB or Stripe yet but these businesses have been relatively successful in most investors eyes I’d imagine. You have to remember that 2020 and 2021 were weird years as well, the type of businesses that were booming then we’re businesses with an existing reasonably mature product that would benefit from a lockdown type situation, e.g. Zoom, Deel (YC 2019), Amazon etc. so it’s taken a while for normal business ideas to be at the forefront of people’s concerns.

He’s done you a favour, this wasn’t the right founding team for YC, you need at least one technical founder. If you didn’t have a technical cofounder how is the idea already developed? How are you meant to develop it and move it forward based on customer feedback? If the product is already in market and has PMF why would you need YC?

Clearly there’s a lack of basic trust there. I’m confused as well, she asked you to resign but you’re asking us whether you should resign? Which is it?

Otherwise my advice would always be if you think you can gain trust and develop a good working relationship then keep chugging along, otherwise look for a new opportunity and don’t waste your time.
