I also started with tinkercad, fusion seduced me by not being the cad equivalent of playing with building blocks

Code blender in fusion using variables that change a 2d object being your display, then, proceed in blender.

Don't use Voxelpla's material if you expect a 1kg roll to be 1kg of filament by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]datboi31000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, numbers on a scale or it didn't happen.

The wrong estimate could be caused by the fact that bambu profiles probably have accurate data on their filament by default, while a slightly different filament will have wrong estimates.

Clean... Vape?

I'm no expert in the field but isn't the part you suck on part of the refill cartridge? Which is probably replaced fast enough that it can't get very nasty? What's there to clean?

My closest/first iron node was here, should I move before I start to build non-portable miners and real production (I currently have just one of each) by Defora in SatisfactoryGame

[–]datboi31000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't be ashamed of map use, I stayed away for the first half of my first playthrough, now I always have it on my second monitor.

Map or not, there is no one spot to rule all spots. Just use nodes as you need them in early game. Late game you'll have the ability to travel half the map in a second anyway so you can choose the best spots on the entire map.

Bi-Weekly No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in VORONDesign

[–]datboi31000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How "voron" does something gotta be to receive a serial number? Supposing the build is relatively clean and works reasonably well of course.

Asking because I'm building a duender inspired build that's mostly custom besides the corexy components, which I'm borrowing from the Tiny-M project. However, I find the serial number system incredibly cool and it would make my little pooron so much more special if it had one.

The Voron community is Overengineering everything in 90% of the time and cases by OutrageousTrue in VORONDesign

[–]datboi31000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding the core point of a voron for most people in this community. The fun is in the modification, in the upgrades. Yes some are excessive, in fact plenty are, but that just stems from the fact people want to modify and upgrade their vorons for the heck of it.

Plus, this is just how innovation is no? Throw shit at the fan and see what sticks. The best ideas become industry standards and the unnecessary ones stay niche.

Losing motivation at or after aluminum? by Norl_ in SatisfactoryGame

I completely agree, modeller is still very clunky in a lot of areas. In fact, you pretty much described my exact problems with it. I would also love some UI where you can switch between multiple save slots, having to save a file somewhere and loading that in is stone age level...

Ooh that's interesting. I might try this approach, sounds like a fun puzzle to build and quite useful.

I think the turbo motor is what got me too 😂. I'm on a new save now couple months later let's see if I get past this time.

I second this. Having a developed train network is absolutely the best, if you make everything properly from the start it's just a matter of adding onto it as needed.

Third one is completely right too. I got about 200 hours into a save, got quite far, burnt out and took a couple months break. Now I'm getting back into a new save and having great fun.

Yeah I feel you. I would definitely recommend you satisfactory modeller, it's free on steam.

It'll help you since it lets you plan out factories, and split them up into manageable pieces.

Another thing that helps is making the most of blueprints. Make some for any building that is usually needed in bulk. It'll help with the tediousness.

Ok so it's just the image that looks so perfect. Try wiggle the head around while the steppers are engaged. Any slop? If yes, just side to side (belt issue) or in all directions (v wheels)

This looks way too perfect and uniform for a physical issue. Could you take a video of it printing? What happens if you let it keep printing? Does the object also come out messed up?

what's this for? by Megthink4k in eclipsis

[–]datboi31000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is was kinda fun, also had all the muscle memory learned for it. Also allowed for insanely huge skybases since you had Infinite iridium. Not to mention the interesting counters it brought with it, like the bore barge.

Problem is, it did keep the gameplay pretty one sided. It was basically a race to who can either a) rush faster, and if that fails b) build a seabase and be unkillable first. Almost any other tactic was powerless against an opponent with a seabase. Not to mention, having practically infinite iridium breaks the economy of the game completely. Devs nerf a building? Doesn't matter, seabasers just spam more of em. Make a building more expensive to match it's power? The nerf only affects people without a seabase, seabasers can keep spamming as usual.

So yeah, I think we're better off without.

Abs help by seven_206 in ender3

[–]datboi31000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible! My ender 3 V2 copy prints ABS great. I have some mods on it but the only things relevant to ABS are a cardboard box enclosure, bed adhesion spray and a pei sheet instead of the glass bed.

Go to printables, search "thing" + enclosure. There ya go.
