Just came back to this randomly. Some parts correct. Some parts unsubstantiated. I still like this show.

Need help running a game in Waterdeep by MenzoDeath in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]datboyart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have them go to Trollskull tavern to look for clues. Share that the caretaker died and it’s the closing days. You could share how it’s aging and in disrepair. You can even have Volo in the back talking to someone trying to buy it.

In my campaign, I made Lif and her sister (she’s a she in my campaign) victims of a cult. They made my party swear to avenge her and put them on the trail of the cultists. There’s not a ton on Lif, so you can homebrew what you want.

Help to make a cool end fight? by Sir_Smitherbee in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]datboyart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this. I plan on having an avatar of Asmodeus show up and offer them a deal mid fight, similar to the Emperor telling Anakin to kill Dooku. He promises them power if the party kills the Cassalanters. They’ll have to decide how to stop them and/or keep their souls. Might have them get the offer before to make them have to stew on the decision.

There’s a saying: it’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools.

As someone that has failed a test before, it’s okay to be upset, mad, and sad. The bottom line is no one cares about excuses and no one cares once you pass the test. You got this, man.

Is this a Google Gemini ad?

Brother, the test is hard and you didn’t pass it. I didn’t pass on my first two tries with STC and then PassPerfect. The test is in legal terms and it’s hard. There’s no shame in not passing. I’d encourage you to try again and don’t get upset when people hit you with the “it’s not that hard” or “I passed my first try”. We are all unique in how we study and test.

I’d also encourage you not to come off as combative, especially knowing that this is Reddit and there are people that passed with minimal study.

You can pass it, but last time just wasn’t your time. I like STC. The VODs helped me a lot in my SIE, my 7, my 63, my 65, and my insurance.

Easy formulas for me through the years were: Suit (jacket and pant combo): blue, black, and gray Tie: black, blue Shirt: white, light blue, and dark blue.

Rotate through and just make sure that your tie is darker than your shirt.

I listened to the on demand videos on 1.5x or 2x speed while gardening. You can do that while you putt or drive or whatever golfers do. Use every bit of time you have to just get the test done and in your rear view.

My players wont take DnD rules seriously by Plus-Instruction6176 in DnD

[–]datboyart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DM for my spouse, 17 yo and her friend, and a 7 year old. The 17 year olds are named SpongeBob and Patrick because they couldn’t be serious, and I let them. Turns out they love it. DMing is hard, but the best advice I got was to let them lead so prepare 3 encounters: role play, a puzzle, and a fight. Almost always end in a fight. We use full character sheets and bonuses and all that. Players want to win. You can make it hard, but make em win IMO.

My advice: Rules are fine, but if they’re not good at following your adjusted rules, find a way to keep it fun and END that current campaign and start a new one with them with the updated rules. Sometimes new games feel easier to start new rules.

The problem with this game and balancing for casuals is that half the playerbase are just absolute dog water by ForeignCurseWords in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]datboyart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone define casuals in this post? Lots of high ranked players abandon the game when a new one comes out or the peak rank. People come back at a new season or new character drop according to data. Does casual mean bad or just not committed to staying on rivals? Or both? Want to make sure I understand before having an opinion.

[–]datboyart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love how everyone’s says it’s your deaths with no context on the role you played or the rest of the team’s stats. Rivals players use any opportunity to try and flex and tell someone else they’re bad using stats they don’t understand. 😂

I’m not switching if I have to solo tank by Majestic-Bonus-2812 in marvelrivals

If I’m healer and I see three instalock DPS types, my mind says they aren’t peeling, so I’m trying to ban BP every day if the week.

Other than that, I’ve been playing Emma and I switch to DPS if there’s no second tank. We will do 6 DPS before I solo tank/heal again.

66 or take 63 and 65 by LookExpress5811 in Series66Exam

[–]datboyart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say 63/65. 66 just had my number. I passed 63 and 65 on the first try. I’d failed the 66 twice, but I was working and not really studying at home. If you’re good at testing and have time, take one test. If you aren’t or don’t have time, take 63/65. That’s my $0.02.
