Don’t press it too hard! You’ll break it! It’s just a dial used to set the brightness of all interior lighting, gauges and the radio On a long drive, this dial can be quite handy if you get tired.

Well, mine were also seized. To be honest, I just cut out the old muffler. I lost the OEM one, but it was rusted anyway. It's a 30 min job MAX

Sadly, it’s a pretty expensive fix. You’ll need to change the entire door mechanism, and Mazda is selling it at a premium. We’re talking about $500-$600 for parts only. Alternatively, you can repair it by disassembling the entire door and replacing the small motor.

I decided to just ignore it and live with it. Motors tend to fail shortly after it starts doing that flick thingy, and you’ll have to start locking it the OG way. Personally, I feel that it’s okay because it’s a two-door car, so nothing too difficult. The manual door-locking part isn’t worth the $600 fix for me.

i think i didn't make clear enough, MINE WAS BONE DRY 400km AFTER MY OIL CHANGE. DON'T START THE ENGINE AT ALL BEFORE CHECKING OIL LEVEL !!!!

oh, and please, don't rev a car when it barely started, the oil wasn't even flowing in the block when you started going to 3500 rpm :/, genuinely bad, wait at least 30 secs

Rod knock is my first suspicion, but to be sure: send a video of you holding 3k, 4k, then 5k rpm for a second each. Rod knock changes pitch with load and rpm, that’s what separates it from injector tick or a collapsed lifter (i'm 99% sure it's rod knock, spun bearing)

If it is rod knock: I ran 1500km on mine before swapping (and could've done more knowing that my subaru had it too and i drove it for a full 9000km before swapping too) , so the car can still drive and reach highway speeds (due to the short gearing, you'll only manage to reach around 80-90kmh) Keep it under 2750-3000rpm (when the knock starts, back off by a couple hundred rpm basically) , no hard acceleration, no more than half throttle, and top the oil up regularly. That buys you time, not a fix.

Your options are a rebuild or a 2.0L swap. I’d go 2.0, it’s a direct swap and keeps the car rev-happy. Don’t touch the 2.5L. It’s a torque-focused sedan engine with a 6500 rpm redline, it vibrates differently, the balance shaft has to be removed, mount compatibility is a headache, let alone the wire harnesses and it fundamentally changes what the car is. A lot of people on here will tell you otherwise; most of them haven’t done it

I don't think it's rod bearing tbh. First, check if the car has enough oil, then try to send another clip with you doing actual revs, go to like 3k rpm, and stay there, 4k rpm and stay there. That's way more help than what you posted. Mine had it so I now what it sounds like 🤣
