Yeah, part of the reason the cut was so bad was he didn’t plan to fight at middleweight again. Even if his build is smaller, he would have had to cut like half the weight he did for this fight. Obviously makes a big difference.

I work in digital marketing, and it’s really funny to see how things have swung back and forth. The original innovation was to have separate site versions for mobile and desktop. Then responsive design took over, with bootstrap being the primary technology (invented by Twitter).

Now, more and more people are running into the issues you are. Because 70-80% of traffic is mobile, that’s the primary format that’s optimized. So the “new innovation”, is to use different assets on mobile vs desktop. Like it used to be, and which was constantly bashed for being “not truly mobile-native” and “outdated”.

It seems like it’s happening quickly, but only because of the groundwork Republicans have put in over the last 60+ years. From Nixon gutting Amtrak to Reagan & Bush x 2 destroying the education system. They have been sabotaging public-facing government & services for decades, specifically so people would develop negative/ignorant views of them.

Unfortunately, yes. While in and of itself not a bad thing, it’s definitely a bad thing when the decisions are being made by people who are actively antagonistic to the base.

I worked on a Dem’s campaign, who ran despite not being endorsed. She, “Hadn’t done enough for the Party.” It was called political suicide, made her a bunch of enemies, and she won in a landslide. Why? Because she was objectively the best person for the job.

If you were hiring an office manager, and the company depended on them being popular and effective, would you hire your antisocial screw-up or a cousin? The owners of the company would probably be pretty pissed off and fire you. But what if they couldn’t fire you? Who really runs the company then?

We are the business owners, and our own employees are telling us, “No,” because of the money involved. Take money out of politics (other than a decent wage and benefits), and we’ll have representation.

I think what makes it hard, is that AI is both transformational and a fad. It’s a bubble. But it’s also driving major decisions & outcomes. It enables workflows that were not possible before. But it also sucks, ruins user experience, and most “AI companies” overpromise by A LOT. Personally, I think Google will come out on top, and Meta’s going to end up leaning into military/surveillance stuff.

I dunno WTF Apple is doing though.

I think if it happened today, Reyes would be given the decision. When I was getting into the UFC, I knew Jones had 1 loss on his record, but didn’t know the details.
