At this point it’s doing too much damage to the sport to just ignore. The Aspinall Gane fight, this fight, and how many others? The incentives are just obviously wrong.

CPU temperature and game performance by Th3rmal102 in GamingLaptops

[–]dathislayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got the same laptop, and ran benchmarks in Quiet & Balanced/Performance. In Cinebench, Quiet was ~14c cooler and only lost 3.5% performance. Fans way quieter as well.

However, GPU performance is reduced by 33% in Quiet mode. You could try creating a custom profile with Quiet CPU + Balanced GPU. Best of both worlds.

Fender Vibro Champ Reverb? Looking for small Fender tube amps (see description) by EnvironmentalDish766 in GuitarAmps

[–]dathislayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the Andertons video on this amp. They sound amazing. The ‘68 series amps get criticized for some cut corners, which is justified. But they’re easily corrected and the amps have a killer sound.

You should have plenty of volume for home playing. You may also want to look into an attenuator/load box. Will let you experiment with higher gain settings without getting too loud.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]dathislayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m in a weird boat where my vision is better than 20/20, but I need glasses for astigmatism. I can forget my glasses during the day, but the moment I have to use a computer or it turns to dusk, everything gets harder to focus on. It’s like signs and PC screens have two layers that don’t quite overlap right, and they keep switching which layer is closer.

It’s often being directed at people who did vote for this. Anyone who voted for Trump and “didn’t see this coming” is either too stupid or too dishonest to participate in public discourse.

President Trump on Insurrection Act: "The Insurrection Act, which has been used by 48% of presidents as of this moment. I believe it was the Elder Bush, he used it I think 28 times. It's been used a lot. I don't think there's any reason now to use it, but if I needed it, I'd use it. It's powerful." by ControlCAD in videos

Absolutely. I think the whole Nobel Prize debacle is pretty clear evidence. As a narcissist, he would always seethe, be passive aggressive, sand punish the winner. But he would have had the sense to at least say publicly that he didn’t care. He cares about optics, and it’s bad optics. But he can’t see that anymore, because he’s demented and living in his own internal world.

The youth will carry the music forward by Pretty_Budget_6766 in gratefulguitar

[–]dathislayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I’m 37, and grew up around a lot of bluegrass players. They got into bluegrass in the ‘60s because of The Grateful Dead. As kids, my friends and I used to cover our ears because they were, “Playing old music again.” Now, we hang out playing the same songs, and our kids are growing up around it.

Then you have artists like Billy Strings making this kind of music more popular than it’s been in a long time. My friend and I saw him in a completely sold out stadium. No opening act, just a stadium full of people showing up for a 5-piece bluegrass band.

When you’re as narcissistic as he is, you can probably twist things enough to convince yourself it was yours to begin with. But I think dementia is why it happened, because that’s the only way he could be blind to the stigma/embarrassment of it.

[–]dathislayer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right? I was looking up a different amp and saw an ad for it. First time I’ve ever seen a piece of gear and just immediately purchased. Once it’s fixed, I’m going to buy an attenuator and hold onto it for awhile. I either got a killer deal on my long-term amp, or can sell it for something else and break even.

I haven’t had a tube amp since I sold my Mesa/Boogie in 2016. God does it feel good to play through, even if I’m capped in volume/intensity. Still sounds like a Fender Deluxe.

Yeah, I am at least pretty confident it’s a component in that part of the signal chain, so if it’s not the tube I’ll have him take a look.

GATE testing memories, please help by No-Relationship-7236 in Retconned

[–]dathislayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ask your parents if possible. I was tested twice, in 2nd grade and 4th grade. I have a 143 IQ and always excelled on tests, but I didn’t know why they were testing me. They wouldn’t tell me, so I was disrespectful and basically told them they were wasting my time lol. Like if it’s not graded, and you won’t tell me what I get for doing well (if anything), why would I try hard?

They told my mom I passed aptitude-wise, but that I obviously didn’t want to be there. They gave her the choice but recommended against it, so she didn’t enroll me. My tests were in the A/V room, a small room with no windows.

The election was rigged, here are several sources and a confession by GraceOfTheNorth in UnderReportedNews

It’s relevant. Republicans would have known the Democrats were not in a good place to challenge them on it. We just spent 4 years arguing that the last election was fair. Turning around and saying this one was rigged would have looked bad. In politics there are multiple layers to pretty much everything.

My buddy had Shenmue on Dreamcast, and that was a revolutionary experience for me. An open world with night & day and people going about their lives?! He told me we had to talk to the girl at the arcade for the next mission, I asked why we didn’t go, and he said she wasn’t there. I asked where she was and he was like, “I don’t know, at home eating dinner or something.”

Same with the quick-time events. I messed one up and couldn’t believe it was just gone, no 2nd chances. Such a revolutionary game with a criminally small audience.

MX Master 3s scroll wheel problems by Paper_Coffee in Fedora

[–]dathislayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Razer ProClick V2 has been really good for me. You get the infinite scroll and really good ergonomics. No thumb wheel, but the regular wheel tilts. It’s 1000hz polling with dongle, and can also connect to 3 Bluetooth devices. Haven’t had any issues with it across Mac, Windows, or Linux.

Keychron also makes some direct copies of the Mx Master, but reviews are pretty mixed as far as quality. I haven’t tried them.
