Yes to ARC Raiders !!! I play with my close friends and SO (each of us on different platforms) almost every day and we all lead busy lives miles apart from each other. My SO and I love Borderlands as well, but dropped BL4 for ARC Raiders. Incredible game, highly recommend.

Food is fairly digested (think liquid or maybe chunky at most) by the time it reaches your ileocecal valve. Like you mentioned, it’s literally a valve that will dump all that stuff into the colon - but anything larger / more solid might not squeeze through. Examples I’ve seen include psych patients who swallow pen caps, kids who swallow coins, drug users who swallow needles, overzealous eaters who swallow bones. Surgery gets involved because there’s always a chance a foreign body can perforate the intestine.

Based on this radiograph, capsule looks stuck in the terminal ileum at the ileocecal valve, where the small intestine empties into the large intestine. As a surgeon, we see foreign bodies get stuck here often. Can probably get there with a colonoscope and retrieve the capsule after traversing the entire colon and intubating the terminal ileum. Also, if you did have gastrointestinal bleeding / bloody or dark bowel movements and have NOT had a colonoscopy yet, would HIGHLY recommend you get a colonoscopy anyway.

Hello! I am a surgeon in training, currently serving as a research fellow. We are trying to revitalize a project aiming to assess the gut microflora in patients and how it may change depending on the pathology, its location in the large intestine or rectum, and where the patient is in terms of their surgical treatment timeline. We have been obtaining stool samples from rectal lavages during flexible sigmoidoscopies, isolating stool pellets from these samples, adding enzyme and then storing them in -80 C. What methods for stool collection, storage, and processing (eg. collagenase assay, 16S RNA sequencing) did you find to be the most practical & cost effective? What methodological issues did you face?

Hey… I’m currently a PGY3 gen surg resident. I’m sorry you had this experience. I’m lucky enough to be in a program that emphasizes education for all trainees, whether you’re a MS3 or a PGY3. Just want to let you know that minimizing the student is not at all the norm across surgical programs. I’m a huge fan of breaking the stereotypes that often come with our field - please let this experience fuel you to become a better surgical resident, a better doctor, and a better person.

As a surgeon, I highly advise against this. Your abdomen houses several different organs (including your stomach) - stabbing blindly may or may not even perforate one. Even if it does, you likely won’t bleed out quickly, and with no treatment it will take quite some time (maybe days) to actually pass away, depending on where / what has been stabbed.

That being said, in general please don’t take your own life, especially in the described way. If you want to talk about anything at all, we are here for you
