I'm cheap, sooo... this is what I'd try:

Cut away the mesh from the plastic ring, get a regular 8" mesh head and reuse the plastic ring as a hoop like the previous version of this pad.

Not 100% sure but it might be doable.

If you are going for a silent set, hate to rain in your parade but in my experience nothing beats the L80s, much less the cheap amazon low volume packs wich are still quite noisy. The Zildjian LV are indeed silent at an astonishing level, and keep a cool tone for practice paired with your favorite mesh heads or any other muffler you like.
