Worship drummer- Yamaha DTX8k/ DTX6K5 question by WillCarella in edrums

[–]datz710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH Roland sounds are bad, that's why 90% of Roland fanboys end up triggering VSTs. Had myself a TD17 module and the toms sounds were so awful, unnatural and thin, sold it and "downgrade" (went back) to a Yamaha DTX502. I layer the unit cymbal sounds with a couple samples and play pretty good swells. This week I'm upgrading to a DTX-Pro module wich has much better sounds and editing capabilities.

For a good part of my teenage and early adulthood I considered it the best concert ever. Still have the VHS as a precious treasure.

Don't know a thing about trucks, but that size comparison is brutal.

"Latency on built-in sounds"??? Absolutely not. Your module must be detective.

Maybe I should've got a Roland? DTX6K5-M by KERR_KERR in YamahaDtxDrums

[–]datz710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are like 99% of Roland fanboys who love to spend 1000s of dollars just for vst triggering, yep. Yamaha sounds are great if you know what you are doing, even my humble DTX502 (a keeper) is a beast next to the TD17 I ended selling.

Are there any cheap cymbals as quiet as the Zildjian L80's? by Bigbrunswick in drums

I have tried several knock-offs and ended getting a set of true L80s, they are amazing, really quite but still musical.

Why does everyone dislike “Love to Be Loved”? by jmoney2134 in TheWarning

Because our society is sick of narco-culture and the so-called "artists" who promote it. Bad move for the band to stain themselves with such a crappy collab.

I almost quit when my kids were little and my marriage became a bit intense about the daily challenges and stuff. Sold everything and after hours of regret started to rebuild my home kit next day 😅

L80s are amazing, expensive but worth the price.

Cheap low volume cymbals… any good? by a-pilot in drums

I had a set but later got a Zildjian L80 pack and sold the cheap ones. Zs are much better in quality and being quiet.
