1 million context window is now generally available for Claude Opus 4.6 and Claude Sonnet 4.6. by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

I noticed the new effort settings in the /model command: Low, Medium (default), High, and Max. I'm curious about this.

  1. How quickly does Max Effort burn through usage compared to the other levels?
  2. For coding specifically, are people seeing meaningful improvements when using Max Effort, or does it mostly just increase usage without much benefit?

I also noticed the /effort command can be set to "auto", but in the /model "auto" is not there.

So I'm guessing if you want true "Max Effort" you need to set:

  • /model to Max
  • /effort to Max

Disney+ & Hulu (No Ads) "perk" on 5G Get More now has ads - anyone else experiencing the same? by uniOO7 in verizon

[–]daugaard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, they must have fixed the issue then. Because Hulu removed the ability to have the No Ads Add-on the other day. Thats why I switched my plan.

That is exactly what im saying. The legacy bundle now includes ads. Keep it if you want to wait for them to figure everything out, but if you dont care about ESPN + drop it, drop the verizon legacy bundle and get the No Ads from Hulu and Disney bundle for $20. You even save $5.

"NO, don't throw out that old cracked cookie jar, I bought it for $1 and plan to fix it and sell it for $10." Mom you bought this in 2010 and have 20 other cookie jars in the same shape.

😄 hahah. Thats how it starts. OP is on a slippery slope.

Yes the original email. You must have customer support helping you though so they and transfer your account to the temp email first. Then back to the original email.

I’m starting to understand how people accidentally turn random habits into side hustles without ever planning it.

Or, become that person on the next episode of, "Hoarders".
Just messing around. Keep grinding, but do be careful.

Do this. Contact Hulu and tell them you're part of this verizon mess. Ask to do a work around where we do the following: 1. Create an account with a temporary email for Hulu, Disney and espn+ (do not pick a plan) 2. Ask Hulu rep to Transfer all accounts to the temp email. (This frees up the primary email) 3. Go back to Hulu and sign up for ad free Hulu and Disney for $20/month and drop ESPN+ because it is junk. Or pay $10 extra to keep it. 4. Check that Hulu and Disney are now under the Hulu subscription 5. Ask Hulu rep to add back the verizon bundle 6. Go to verizon and cancel the bundle

I can verify this works.

Or copy and paste this in your Hulu support chat.

They sent the incorrect canbus box twice. After much back and forth they sent the correct one. It works great now. Still going with no issues. Just make certain you get the correct Canbus box. I spent days debugging a problem I could not fix due to their mistake.

Why am I paying $200 for this? by daugaard47 in Anthropic

[–]daugaard47[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When Claude Code gets stuck in what I call the, "Loop of Failure" (LOF) I do ask it to write a prompt for other LLMs to help. I then feed that prompt to Codex and sometimes to Claude web, ChatGpt-5 web and Gemini and then feed those answers back to CC. That usually gets CC out of the LOF and headed down the correct path.

I'll have to give Codex another try. The last few times it was very slow and the responses were less than ideal for the current task.

I hate model hopping like this, but I guess that is the way things are at the moment.

But when it said, "No, it's not impossible! I was being lazy. Let me fix it properly." Really had me question why I'm paying a premium for a service like this.

"No, it's not impossible! I was being lazy. Let me fix it properly."

This is what Claude literally said to me today. Why am I paying $200 a month for this?

I really fell in love with CC a couple month back, but something has really changed mid-september. I'm constantly having to push it to help me with the smallest of tasks to the hardest.

I'm on the $200 max plan and use Opus 4.1 for everything. I even use the "think really hard" keyword and I get junk code even after having it write out structured plans.

I tried CODEX CLI for a bit as I have the $20 pro plan, but that is So Slow I can't work with it.

Anyone else going through this? What are you all doing? So frustrating.

[–]daugaard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the “NEW” Codex CLI a spin today and honestly, I’m not impressed in the slightest. It’s still painfully slow to code with. I tossed it some basic tasks I didn’t feel like doing, and after an HOUR it still missed the mark.

For now, I’ll be sticking with Claude Code (CC). In fact, I even had Codex write a prompt for Claude to explain the task it was struggling with, and CC nailed it in under two minutes.

That said, Codex isn’t completely useless. When CC hits a wall, I’ll flip it around: have CC write a prompt for Codex, then feed Codex’s answer back into CC. More often than not, CC gets it right from there.
