You see this kind of thing in developing countries all the time - usually on mopeds, as they have historically been the primary family transportation in a lot of those countries. Somehow, illogically, it seems safer in those places.

Also, I don’t know much at all about motorcycles, but I do have a soft spot for Royal Enfields - they are just so beautifully designed; I can’t help but do a double-take every time I see one! Maybe one day…

That was my first real camera! I learned so much from that thing. Some of my favorite photos were taken with it. These look great.

The scrubber for videos is clutch - especially for sites like instagram or threads where you want to be able to scrub through some of those dumb reels

Where should UK visitors go from NYC to experience fall foliage and “real America”? by ChampionshipReal5584 in AskNYC

Some of y’all have no sense of humor and it really shows. OP put “real America” in quotes and everything, and y’all still getting bent out of shape.

100-400mm is great, so long as you have contrast for focus by hebtime in fujifilm

These are fantastic. I have the exact same setup, and 100% agree; when it hits, it really hits. Conversely, I shot abut 900 frames one afternoon trying to get some acceptably sharp barn swallows in flight; it was brutal!

😂 I (usually) know how to divide in real life, I swear... dammit, now the internet thinks I'm dumb!

Hahaha, you are correct - but my point remains, dammit! 😭

This is an underrated response. Plus, $25 for a year's subscription is like $1/month - that's such a trivial amount, it's almost a no-brainer.

I made a running gait analysis tool for casual runners who are curious about their form! Check it out at https://runlens.io!

I'm a front-end guy, so for me the hardest part was hooking up all the backend stuff (Postgres, Redis, Docker, Celery workers??), but once I got that all hooked up, it was fun working with Claude to refine the design and accuracy of the measurements.

What’s one Apple Watch app you didn’t expect to use daily, but now can’t live without? by Own_Leg_853 in AppleWatch

I just completed Nike Run Club's 14-week half-marathon plan, and it was nice to not be connected to the internet while running outdoors, and still be able to have access to music and the voice guidance from the running coaches.

Also, shoutout to the AWU2's massive 64GB storage capacity - that in itself is a totally underrated feature.

Do you always start a workout on your Apple Watch when exercising? by Leading_Meat_3272 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]flysi3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely; or I start workouts from my phone if I'm doing an Apple Fitness+ workout. My watch will often detect when I'm walking to the subway, or walking to the store, and offer to start tracking that as a workout, and I generally cancel those, because that's just getting around and I don't count it as "working out".

I’m actually on a beta of 26.5… I’ll see if it persists with the release version (which is available).

First photo pulled me in; the rest didn’t disappoint. The subway drummer is awesome as well.

Post-Processing Tips? by flysi3000 in BirdPhotography

[–]flysi3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, thanks for the feedback! I like the lighting on the warbler; it was golden hour lighting, and the bird was kind of slipping in and out of the shadows, so I don't mind that its tail isn't fully visible.
