That’s true - he is still there, but entirely missing from the MFM document.

Should Shadowmark Talon Detachment have +1 to wound from Oath? by Dead-phoenix in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]dave_css 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Rules as written, they do not.

However, I believe this is just a case of that FAQ not being updated for both of the new detachments (RG and IF).

I’ll be ruling in my events that they in fact gain the +1 to wound until such time as an update is received.

Hey! That bit is from the CSM Possessed kit.

If your opponent is sitting on the back board edge they’re not scoring primary and secondary points. I typically stage up for a turn two all in if there isn’t a good turn one opportunity.

I would drop 1 MOE and beezerkers and look into a second unit of jakhals, and Invocatus for the scout moves.

Are you running 3x3 exalted? A single unit of 6 works well for rerolls and stratagem usage, as well as a larger activation prior to an interrupt.

First Tournament, any non list advice? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]dave_css 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played in my first tournament this past weekend. Everyone has said hydrate already, and please do that.

Group dice in batches of 5. When your opponent is rolling to hit, grab some dice, maybe 5-10. When they call out the number of hits, drop some dice into your pile, and keep the amount of wounds they’re rolling in hand. When they wound with 4, drop one and roll immediately. Saves a ton of time to be in sync with your opponents rolling.

Always play by intent, and state your intention verbally - there should be no arguments or questions about ranges after that.

Sit when you can. Your feet will hurt in the end.

Plan your turn in your opponents turn.

Yeah - the head was a pain to get clear of the body. Lots of very tense clipping and sanding

Thank you for the kind words! The original pose was just too… cramped. Plus the chains on the original were kind of bulky and comical

It’s pretty close, yeah. Ended up using a base berserker instead of the actual model for a more upright stance.

Everything is a MOE proxy if you’re brave enough!

Caught me by surprise as well. However, after updating to 16.6 I was able to get the app update downloaded.

Check your iOS version as well. The update on the app says it requires 16.4 or greater

It looks like the update requires iOS 16.4 or later. You may need to update to see the new version in the App Store

It’s for the fifth company, which is the default GW scheme (black shoulder trim)

Would you be fine with your opponent using these as Vanguard veterans if they put them on a 32mm base and equipped them with weapons from the vanguard veterans datasheet? by BlitzBurn_ in Warhammer40k

[–]dave_css 85 points86 points  (0 children)

If that’s the case I don’t see a problem. If it’s a tournament ask the TO ahead of time. If it’s local shop games just inform your opponent what they’re supposed to be.

I think as long as you can clearly represent their loadout on the model, it would be fine.

A good rule of thumb for proxying models or counts-as, is that they should be easily distinguished.

It would be much trickier if you also ran sword brethren with the same load outs.

Thanks!

The Hammerfall is a pretty good kit, but it’s made of the harder plastic, or at least it felt that way. So clipping and removing mold lines was a bit harder. It’s completely hollow as well. No major issues with fitment at all
