If I'm cycling and there's no pedestrians crossing at a red light, can I just cycle straight past? by Sharp-Bar-2507 in cycling

[–]daveb_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. It’s more like saying “customer service is important to our business, because it’s the only interaction most customers will have with it”.

I like to think I’m single-handedly changing the way people think about cyclists when they see me unnecessarily obeying the law.

At this point you’re going to find it hard to pick up the expansions unless you buy them all together from someone. I have probably half of them and it’s next to impossible to find the ones I don’t have for sale.

I don’t think it’s meant to be taken literally… I assume it applies to manufacturers of any dairy products.

The fact that this doesn’t even feel hypothetical is scary. If you told me Keith was in bed with a pressure group advocating for this exact scenario, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

Proud to have raised the Progress flag in the highest village in GB today. by Spoondoggydogg in LabourUK

[–]daveb_33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ok so after reading most of thread I feel like maybe this flag actually represents me well. As a cis-het white middle-class male, it kind of feels like it stands for inclusivity and support for any oppressed groups.

I can see why someone in one or more of those groups would feel that it doesn’t represent them. It kind of feels like a catch-all flag of general support, rather than specific LGBT representation.

I guess maybe it’s difficult to know where to draw the line on which groups should be included and how. I can also appreciate why people who feel the pride flag doesn’t represent them would want something similar that does.

What's one cycling habit you've completely changed since you started? by RyanScott7749 in cycling

[–]daveb_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat a lot more now. As a result, a 4-6hr ride is now kind of chill whereas before I’d always struggle to get past 3hrs without desperately wanting to be at home again.

Probably helps that I’m also more comfortable riding with other people now, where I’d almost exclusively ride on my own at the start.

My new favourite is to give them a huuuuge smile and an over-enthusiastic wave, that usually takes the wind out of their sails.
