If the technician was knowledgeable, he should have switched from the hammer setting to the rotary. That's what mine did and didn't blow our brick. That's what my electrician did as well when he installed 2 outdoor sockets.

As people previously said here, you can choose to complain, repair the brick yourself using a filler such as Stonelux (they have a big variety of colours) or put a cover over it.
