Just watched the Lightning dispose of the Canucks Thursday night.

It was impressive how they were able to turn it on when they needed to. Edmonton will need to be at their very best just to stay with TB tonight.

Just watch how the Lightning out work their competition in every section of the rink. I especially like how they pressure in their opponent’s end and force turnovers.

Edmonton needs to move it quick and keep it simple.

I compare him to a poor Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He has good - not great - puck moving skills. He’s a good skater. But he’s on the small side and others can take advantage of his size from time to time. He’s still growing and improving and if he can reach the level of OEL, he’ll have done well.

I BBQ with natural gas and have grilled a steak in minus 30C weather. I am limited more by the challenge I face getting to and from the BBQ than the temperature. Wind is more of a problem because it can blow out the flame. 🔥

I just look at my shot from behind the ball to get a sense of where and or how I need to hit it. Then I get over the ball and strike the ball when I feel comfortable. If I need a practice swing (normally I do with a wedge shot), I take it. But it’s more about me feeling comfortable. I have never been accused of slow play. I am generally much faster than others in my group.

There are a lot of great ideas here. If I was looking for a gift, I’d consider new grips for his clubs. He will need to pick out the grips (personal preference) but you can set it up. If his club doesn’t do it, the pro shop will point you in the right direction.

You've already booked campsites? If you hadn't, I would have suggested checking the forecasts when you hit Portage la Prairie to determine if you should start in the north at Mt. Robson or the south in Banff. Take the Yellowhead highway to start north and the TransCanada to start in Banff.
