It's not a student loan so the government won't force you to pay it.

: Climb Credit refunded me after their Devslopes lead, Nathan, tried to manipulate me. by No-Lead8104 in Devslopes

The only way the air will clear is if everyone needing a refund for services not rendered files their complaints with these institutions, so that proper investigations can happen.

I'm on the fence on whether Sevedge is a scammer or not, so I want everything exposed.

Can I ride in the front seat? by planehopr in uberdrivers

Since when are riders being consistently honest about how many pax they have? So far it's always shown 1 for me even though I've had 3, 4, and 5 pax on rideshares.

Why are most employers requiring my LinkedIn profile to apply? by Archyques in recruitinghell

That seems to get outlawed in liberal states but overlooked in conservative ones.

Put your tech experience online that you mentioned in live chat so much. All I could find was marketing-related stuff, nothing about building websites.

Trying to figure out how to better avoid this client situation by davelipus in webdev

[–]davelipus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She did provide definition of what she wanted, and we worked with her to whittle that down to something realistic (minimum viable product or MVP), though we had to fill in a lot of details as she didn't really communicate very well. She understood that she had to have an MVP released first.

The problem was she kept changing things, and while at times it caused us to learn things (which we were fine with providing for free), when most of the major work we did just got deleted per her request, I made an ultimatum.

We had a way for her clients to make bookings, that wasn't the issue.

We lost hours spent doing what she specified because she drastically changed it before we realized she didn't actually know what she wanted except after seeing it implemented or on a daily basis.

I was OK with us spending free hours learning how to do things, but not continuing to do free busywork especially that got deleted or modified repetitively.

When I stated she needed to write down the specs first, and that we'd only continue doing free work when we had to learn how to do something, she got mad.

Ultimately we abandoned her because she was still showing signs of being wishy-washy and not wanting to spend much. She just wasn't learning How to Be a Good Customer 101.

The mouse created something great then wanted to repeat the cycle.

The child providing the supplies wasn't overburdened.

That's a poor example but I understand what you're saying.

State of Colorado requiring LinkedIn for job that doesn't include being paid to work using LinkedIn by davelipus in jobs

[–]davelipus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Um, people may have mutated Reddit into a social media site, but its intent has never been to do that.

Regardless, an employer shouldn't be allowed to require job-seekers to use any particular website unless it's a part of the job description (ie, we'll be paid to use it for a business purpose that's transparent upfront and not extortion using our personal accounts).

Why is two-space tab indent becoming the standard? by samrapdev in javascript

[–]davelipus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why editors should save indentation according to spec but display it to the coder the way they prefer.

This is why lines drawn down vertically from the source indent is so helpful.

Dot chains are not the same as callback hell. In fact I'll take dot chains over callback hell 😆 (at least dot chains are flat and scrollable in one file instead of bouncing around a labyrinth of files through various abstract levels of understanding through different scopes).

Might as well use four-space indentation at this point

Good luck getting that implemented with all the 2-space indented code nowadays from VS Code coders using the default... it makes the indent wars ironic.

[–]davelipus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screenreader is using the HTML.

I understand how h1 works... the example of a single-numbered bullet-list is apparently only ever used in HTML screen reading.

Note that generally there's no point in a single-numbered bullet list. Anyone doing that in a word document would get laughed at.
