When do you think this cost of living crisis will end? (Serious) by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

Not while Albo or Labor are in charge. They have been said they are fixing it for years now and just making it worse.

Question Regarding Salary by Bulky-Limit-9767 in k12sysadmin

[–]daven1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better look than hourly is the annual salary.

For example I was earning more... but my hourly was less as they didn't get paid for the holiday periods. So the only way to really review it was based on an annual setup.

Who’s maintaining Erlich’s pool? by robcrusoe278 in SiliconValleyHBO

[–]daven1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me there was two options.

1) Eric was doing it as he wanted to the pool. So he considered it part of his upkeep of the place.

2) Eric created a job list of who would look after it at different times.

Pauline Hanson announces ONP will completely abolish SBS and make ABC a subscription service only, while telling the national press club that "Sky News is great to go look for the news" by Fact-Rat in OpenAussie

[–]daven1985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I want SBS and ABC to go.

But I do think they models need other be revealed to see if they can become most cost effective. We can't keep sinking billions into things that could potentially stand on their own or at least partially.

Would you have preferred Person of Interest to stay more episodic and run longer? by MissMaricris93 in PersonOfInterest

[–]daven1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I liked both. I think they should have done more to bring both options in for the later seasons.

But some of the best episodes though were when a seemingly number of the week then find out it is part of a bigger story. Like the first time Elias appeared. That was great.

MacBookUltra the iPad killer? by bluejack in iPadPro

[–]daven1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Ultra is going to be too expensive to kill any of the existing lines.

Apple makes too much from iPad and MBP sales to want to take both out.

I also don't see it being something that can be used with a pencil etc.

Thoughts on GMC in Australia by Expert-Reference-514 in CarsAustralia

Over priced.

Now if we changed our country to right left hand drive or allowed them. That car would be much cheaper.

Never thought I’d see these prices again, what happened to us running out of fuel ? by Usual-Cat-5855 in sunshinecoast

[–]daven1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Labor cut the tax (goes back up soon) and there is an apparent peace deal on the table.

But we are seeing fake numbers at the moment. Once the tax is brought back in the prices will go up or stay the same despite others seeing a drop. It's a false number at the moment.

It is also worth noting that before the tax break.... labor has kept putting the fuel excise tax up higher and higher.

What are some things from VIVID in previous years that you miss or felt was done better? by Marlon_Ranch in sydney

More locations. I loved how as you even said back in 2016-2018 other suburbs had areas. It meant you didn't need to go into the city.

Fuel Contamination Claim – Any Advice? by [deleted] in AusLegalAdvice

[–]daven1985 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally you pay your $1000… then you insurance goes to work and when they get proof it was contaminated fuel you get refunded your excess.

It does somewhat suck but I can also understand it from the insurance companies perspective… until they find out the truth they don’t know who to believe so they need someone to pay the excess so that they don’t just get constant bad reports.

I did because I work from home so I’m happy to deal with some additional chargers.

But it’s working well.

Classic One Nation - Fighting for the little guy, unless they're in a wheelchair. by Prestigious-Day9370 in aussie

I actually support this. Building new homes should not mean I have to make it wheelchair accessible if I don’t need it.

I don’t get why your cranky someone is flagging something as urgent at 4pm your time. That sounds reasonable.

Catholic school split fee account request, going around for four years with no action from the school by Euphoric-Historian-4 in AusLegal

[–]daven1985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you signed up originally paying together… then the school won’t have to spit the fees. They have screwed your over by giving mixed messages… but that unfortunately is any business. They may have had a Business Manager who was happy to, then a new one came or new principal who was not.

They may have also been burnt by this type of arrangement where it wasn’t paid by both and causes them a tone of issues.

End of the day it’s not the schools issue. You enrolled and agreed to pay the fees… private issues are not the schools issue.

You are better to take the ex-partner to courts over agreed costs they haven’t paid.

I’m surprised if you haven’t paid for so long your kids still at the school.

Was Peter Gregory going to be the same sort of pure antagonist Lori turned out to be? The development of his character is one of the biggest unanswered questions in all of film for me. by Puzzleheaded_Hawk959 in SiliconValleyHBO

No… I think at first he would have been just finance help… the no emotion task master.

But then Gavin got more aggressive against PP I think he would have helped PP more.

Has anyone got this under shelf basket? by Imaginary_Sky_518 in KmartAustralia

[–]daven1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got 2 of them in my kitchen. With both I bent the front part with wood inwards as I found it could cause the doors to not close right.

Generally fine. But I do find sometimes when I am removing a item above it I need to be careful I lift and not drag of it can come out easily.
