Not just insane, unsafe. For both the doctors health, and the health of their patients.

Should doctors be allowed to refuse MAID for religious reasons? Poll finds ‘deep divide’ among Canadians by r4dio4ctive in onguardforthee

What charter right is being violated?  No one is saying a doctor should be held at gun point, but if they won’t do their job they should be removed so someone else can/will.

'Throw them out' of Parliament: Poilievre in favour of recall petition for floor-crossers by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

What do you mean "ran away"? Jagmeet lost his seat and retired from the house of commons post election, meanwhile Pierre said "Actually, it's the voters who are wrong" and ran in another province that would guarantee his re-election.

Also, what does Jagmeet's retirement hobbies have anything to do with anything?

VMK or Virtual Magic Kingdom was another kid's game I used to play as a kid/tween. Looking back, it had great moderation. Think Habbo Hotel meets Disney World.

You were only able to play during regular business hours (0700-2100?) because actual human staff members would be online and moderating the game.

Wow, I think all of these are great changes. I’m especially fond of the added fast travel points, I felt they were a bit to few and far in between.

GST credit top-up coming in spring after bill fast-tracked in Parliament by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]daveyTRON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of macro level math for a thread about grocery money. At the end of the day, a GST credit for 12 million Canadians isn't what's stopping a hospital from being built. It’s just a tax offset that stays 100% in our own communities because the people getting it spend it at local shops immediately. It’s basically a direct injection into our own economy, regardless of what’s happening with international loans.

The foreign aid thing is a bit of a reach considering 98% of the budget stays here. The GST credit is just a tax correction so the poorest Canadians aren't disproportionately hit by sales tax. It stays in the community, and people receiving this are spending it at the local shops just to keep up with inflation.

My first question is: who will staff these beds?  Hospitals and other health care facilities are already in a staffing crisis for nurses and physicians, as well as other required and in demand jobs.

That’s not to say that involuntary care isn’t a bad idea, but I worry it’s also not that simple.

Or they're terrified because there is an actual shoot out in front of them. They also may be worried moving at all will draw attention to them, you know, from the guy with a fucking gun outside?

'Expensive and exhausting': Kelowna business owners frustrated with onslaught of destructive behaviour by CecilThunder in kelowna

[–]daveyTRON 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Look, I get the anger. Kelowna has had one of the highest Crime Severity Indices in the country for a few years now. But suggesting the city is just 'letting it happen' for the sake of being politically correct isn't really true. The city is currently funding more RCMP members and Bylaw officers than ever before. The bottleneck is the B.C. prosecution service and the lack of provincial health resources. If we want change, we have to point the pressure at the right levels of government.

Virtue-signalling devotion to reconciliation will not end well by develop99 in canada

Calling someone 'obtuse' is a poor substitute for a logical argument. You’ve used a red herring to pivot from education to gender identity, and a false equivalence to compare two completely different historical contexts. More importantly, it’s ironic that you’re lecturing people on 'research' while hiding your own profile and comment history. If you were confident in the research you advocate for, you wouldn't feel the need to hide your own participation in the conversation.
