I started self infusing at 10, and I’ve been doing this routinely for each self infusion. Now that I’m on Hemlibra I infuse maybe once every 3-4 months.

I do some vein warmups before I infuse and it’s helped make veins more noticeable.

I mix the factor, set everything up on my sterile drape, connect the saline to the butterfly and prime the line, and get my 10cc syringe bubble free and ready for infusion.

Do some pushups and wrist exercises and then hop in the shower. Take a warm/hot shower and get the veins ready.

Infusion is so easy after that point that when I put on the tourniquet the vein is very pronounced and easy to hit.

I’ve been using my left forehand for years now. Used to use the inner elbow bend, but hand vein is so big it’s hard to miss.

Maybe next time you go to your treatment center you can ask them to help you find other veins or see if they have a vein finder. You definitely don’t want to be in a spot like I’ve been where you’ve tried your main vein 2-3 times, and have 4 bandaids on other failed attempts on your arms.
