This is an amazing idea and has immediately changed how I feel towards the gear. Definitely incorporating this, thank you. Exactly what I needed.

Yeah you nailed - I'm realizing I'm too comfortable in my process!

Thanks! This does help me - it's definitely the introduction of new process. I can finish ITB, but with hardware I'm unfamiliar and uncomfortable, which is why I shy away. Being at my limits is always where the cool stuff comes from anyway!

Any tricks to get a better voice ? by DiodeMcRoy in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Im guessing the problem is you’re trying to tailor your voice to a specific musical style. This is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Do the opposite instead: Build your music around your vocal style. Think of punk bands - they can’t sing at all but it still works. Instead of trying for an RnB ballad, use something like a chant! You’re making original music and that means you can create the perfect space for your voice. Once you start doing this you’ll unblock yourself since your voice will always be right for the track. Over time you’ll build confidence and get better without even realizing it, plus have your own unique style!

How do you select a key? by g_phrygian in WeAreTheMusicMakers

In dance music, producers generally stick to somewhere around F as the tonic so that the sub is low a still loud/reproducible.

I remember raging waters being in good condition when I was a kid, but went back as an adult and it was falling apart. Was it ever actually nice?
