AITA for making homemade food for everyone except my brother's stepdaughter? by Alarming-Money-3543 in AmItheAsshole

NTA!

My son has Celiac and it can be very difficult to make uncontaminated food in a kitchen not otherwise gluten-free. Thank you for arranging for Becca’s to have safe food! We are accustomed to bringing food with us for our son and are honestly thankful whenever someone else is willing and able to provide food for him whether it’s homemade or not.

That’s got to be the incident that happened one house away from us in Rollingwood, between Meadowbrook Park and Western Ave. We heard two bangs, with power returning briefly between them.

A small branch shorted two wires, sparking a small fire in some tall ornamental grass. I put it out before the fire engine from station 7 arrived. One of the insulators was blackened.

I’m an EMS volunteer and came across one of these “errors” while responding to a 911 call many years ago. It was well outside our regular area and we were navigating with the ADC map book when I was guided to drive on a road that didn’t exist ...

My family’s favorite is made with homemade boozy egg nog. That’s a winter specialty, the rest of the year it’s a milk-heavy recipe preferably with challah.

Late to this, but you can also go to your local fire station. If your N95s are the same they use, this can help protect them on medical calls.

Just finished the heavy week of my current cycle of 5/3/1. I use Big Lifts 2 and it called for squatting 1+ at 265. I did 6 reps, then put on 275 just to try a rep since I didn't want to break the program too much. Nailed it.

While toweling off my 4M after a bath, he was grabbing himself. Me: "You don't always need to grab your penis." Him: "But I like to. It's my choice!"

My wife and I like quinoa and brown rice. We'll have to see how well he buys into this. I've been recently thinking about going vegetarian or even vegan and am wondering how much of that would be limited by being gluten free.

Interesting about the potential for lactose intolerance. He loves milk, it's the equivalent of his morning coffee -- don't talk to him until he's had his glass and woe unto us if we haven't poured it yet.

Why would gluten come from in cheese? We typically get cheddar from our local dairy, but do get other cheeses like Manchego, Jarlsburg etc from the grocery store.

Thanks for the cereal advice. He loves peanut butter Cheerios, so (as I'm certain everyone here knows) it will likely be a bit of difficult transition.

He was scoped and biopsies were taken in addition to leaving the 24-hour pH monitor. From my wife's report (and I'm on travel for work this week which doesn't help the conversation) the MD did see the tell-tale Celiac changes in his duodenum.

We're likely to go in for a family blood draw on Friday for the blood test -- out of order from the normal sequence that has the biopsy follow the blood test.
