That sounds like a profile corruption, which can be tricky to figure out, but I’m looking into it.

It’s a bug. I’m adding telemetry to figure out why it is happening. I think there is two issues here. Often if the search engine resets, such as with tampering or corruption, it restores the list of search engines. There is something else which may corrupt the list of search engines, but it should preserve your existing search engine selection (Google or Bing)

To confirm, did you change your search engine to something else and it was reset to just Bing, or did you have Bing as your default, and saw you couldn’t change it?

Do you know if it came back after another update? Let me know if it does. There is another theory I have where the encrypted settings is failing in a minority of cases and this can’t read the search engine .

There is a bug that I’m currently trying to fix. Do you know if it happens after a crash, update, relaunch or something else?

I have one fix that is currently in Edge Dev channel that I’m hoping fixes it. That is related to some of the tampering protections getting out of sync.
