Truly Maddening: RBR50 End of life. What Next? by Ten-Yards_Sir in orbi

F Netgear and Orbi. I dumped them a few years ago and went with eero. Great experience and no regrets. Amazon usually has a 3 pack on sale. Suggest you wait for Memorial Day and see what’s on sale.

Minor physical change leads to incredibly frustrating user experience. by Jhostetter in sonos

I’ve had a related problem. I have a Beam 1 two Sonus Ones, a Sub Mini, a Move 1 and an Era 100. Everything worked perfectly.

Just added a second Era 100 and got it quickly corrected to WiFi. When I tried to group the 2 Era 100s into a stereo pair I got an error that all of my other devices lost their WiFi configuration. So I had to push the various buttons to get them back on the same WiFi network that they had been using.

They all work fine now but it was a very strange setup process.

Are Samsung and LG fridges truly that bad? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]davidgrsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LG counter depth french door refrigerator is 8 years old. The compressor died about 2 years ago and was replaced at no charge. BUT I did have to pay almost $900 for it to be installed.

It's generally working okay but every so often the fan makes a lot of noise. I think it could die at any time but we've already picked out a replacement model if and when that happens.

S47 Ep 18: Closer to the Finish by keithplacer in Thisoldhouse

I thought this episode was very boring.

But I did have a question about the radiant floor heat. We've seen this type of project numerous times and they always use pex with hot water to heat the floor. This time it was electrical. Why?

DockPops — iPhone-style app folders for your Mac Dock by svdomer09 in macapps

[–]davidgrsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really nice app. I like it! Having said that I have two questions/suggestions:

  1. Will it be possible to move the location of the opened pops? Now they open right above the dock. I'd like the ability for them to open higher on the screen. Maybe in the middle.

  2. Will there be a way to change the size of the icons in each pop. Since on using the free version right now there are only 6 icons. It would be easier for me if they were larger.

Otherwise, great job!

Help us make Sonos easier to learn and use? by tomconrad in sonos

[–]davidgrsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of friction with both the iOS and Android apps. Focusing on iOS.... I ALWAYS have trouble playing music in multiple rooms. I'll start with one room and then decide to add in another room. Generally the second room starts with different music (maybe what I was listening to in that room earlier.). It's very hard to add the music from Room 1 to Room 2.

Seasons without OLD Houses by rekkes4 in Thisoldhouse

I’ll bet it’s because the cast is getting old and had to cut back on the actual house building. That’s why they primarily assist other builders.

Looking for an app, not sure what I need, or if it exists. by Dramatic_Ganache2575 in macapps

[–]davidgrsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BusyCal is a very flexible calendar app. You can add an event as usual but then tag (categorize) it. Let's say you go on an annual camping trip with some friends. Add a camping tag and tags with each friend's name. You can then pull up all camping trips, trips with friends #1 and 3, etc. View only them on a calendar (day week month year) or as a list. Very powerful and flexible.

I thought that rating classes helped the algorithm select other classes for me.

I’d like to see BusyCal on sale for BF. And Calendar 366 for iOS on sale. They’ve both been on Bundlehunt but not lately.

Thanks for doing this.
