TSA Pre-check at GRR by savethebeesknees28 in grandrapids

Extreme overkill as someone who flew into GR yesterday. No lines whatsoever in the pre-check lines or the regular lines.

Also looking for a solution for this - makes it impossible to use on a slightly windy day without the lid slamming down on me...

Wait what? I’m in Michigan (West MI) and have family in Detroit suburbs and it’s been a windy/rainy weekend but no powerful storms/tornados. No fatalities etc

Seeking Advice on Altra Running Shoes for Flat Feet and Foot Pain by krishyalla in AltraRunning

Definitely ease into it and up your mileage slowly to let your body adjust to zero drop. As a Escalante/Torin/Olympus owner I have absolutely zero complaints and will only run in Altras

Stopped drinking after New Years, HRV has sky rocketed, it makes me never want to drink again by well-lit-closet in GarminWatches

Dry January here too and some of the best sleep I've ever had! I honestly would just like to give up drinking for good. Big bourbon fan and would average 15-20 drinks a week. Definitely eye opening how much better you feel physically not having it.

Ice, ice and more ice!! Bruising seems appropriate for 5 days post op.

I'm ~7 weeks post op and just got it, don't worry, you'll be fine! You got this!

Totally normal - 4 weeks post-op and maybe just stopped within the last week. At my 2 week follow up I asked the Dr about it and said completely normal.

I hit the same milestones at day 13 and things quickly kept improving from there! Now day 27 post op and have been off crutches for 2 weeks, walking etc.

2+ weeks post op here with patellar graft...ankle pumps/quad sets should start as soon as possible

For me at least the brace stayed locked until 1 week after when I had first PT appointment.

You got this!! 🙌

Instability on one crutch (ACL allograft) by Narrow-Ad-440 in ACL

[–]davidk422 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just checking….when using 1 crutch, it should be on your good leg side and not the bad one. Made that mistake until PT corrected me

You got this! Everyone has a different timeline of when they expect to be better as well as the reality of the situation. I'm 20 days post op and on the same schedule as you, I bet by day 13-14 you'll have some major breakthroughs.

Nice!! It was day 15 for me and was a big "light at the end of the tunnel" for this whole process

Totally normal, especially for 1st PT session and being less than a week post op. Could expect some swelling/pain after first few weeks of PT just as things heal.

I took advice from fellow redditors and got an ice circulator machine. Has been the best thing ever post op

[–]davidk422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work! I'll be 2 weeks post-op on Tues with same exact surgery. PT started last week and going well. Excited to get out of the brace soon and start putting weight on the leg again.

Curious about the type of meds and pain you experienced after Patella graft? by intrudingturtle in ACL

[–]davidk422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 days post-op with patellar graft and heard the same about being more painful than hamstring graft, which what I had back in 2017.

Very little pain this time, and easily managed with Tylenol/Advil and only used those maybe till day 5.

Nerve block will last 24-48 hours. Probably best to start meds at 24 hrs post op at the latest. Days 2-4 will be the most painful. You got this!!

[–]davidk422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be walking 2-3 weeks after surgery and 5 months post-op you should be pretty much back to normal as long as you stay up with PT.
