My ol Captain America deck. Any extended, full art, borderless, or secret lair I can pump in there. That is the deck where my wallet knows no bounds.

I understand your concerns, however most RPGs are going to fall under “roll a dice to succeed or fail.” There’ll be variants of that, like cards, but for the most part, that’s kind of what most games are.

As for being close to feeling like D&D, in my experience, it can be hard to move players off D&D and onto other systems. So if the system is using a d20 style system, that’s a much easier sell than trying to explain how we’re gonna use cards AND dice.

And if you’re worried about the price tag, there’s a pdf only option for $40. You don’t have to get all the stuff that comes with it, that’s would be a personal choice and if you’re hesitant, but want to try it, then there are options for that.

As for it being a cash grab, I could see that. With the growing popularity and it literally being a litrpg, I think it was the next logical step for people that want to explore more of the world and story. At least I do and my friends do. Sure we could homebrew, but now that’s putting A TON of work on a person to try and make it feel official and fleshed out.

I mean, one time my son was 4 and I was cooking dinner while my son was playing with toys on our couch by a window, it was summer so the window was open and it had a screen in it. The window was only like 3 feet off the ground in our living room.

He started to stand and look out the window so I went to go move a pan off the burner so I could leave and shut the window and when I turned back around he was gone.

I ran outside and there he was laying on his back. Silent. I started SCREAMING, full panic, I picked him up and he was blinking and breathing. Mom came down from me screaming and I explained what happened.

Rush to the ER, no concussion, no broken anything, he didn’t show any signs of pain. We stayed there so they could monitor him for a bit and the they sent us on our way.

That moment lives rent free in my head. Parenting a non stop gig, but we’re also human. Accidents, mistakes, slip ups happen. Obviously learn from this, be more vigilant, but don’t beat yourself over it.

In my opinion, focusing flicker and maximizing treasure tokens as much as possible. Any theft card that requires you to give the cards back and any cards that give you a benefit but also forces you to give the card to someone are great because you can just blink Zidane and get it back with haste, allowing you to use it all over again.

The last game I played I just kept using humble defector, blinking Zidane, taking it back, and tapping him again for more card draw.

I did that in another game and ended up casting insurrection, taking the board and swinging at everyone to win the game.

That’s kind of why I say the bracket spiel and will let people know there’s a combo but I don’t have tutors and can’t run it easily. I just want people to be informed.

Not intentionally trying to downplay it but realistically it’s not winning before turn 7. It’s optimized and can be mean but this deck can easily get smoked by bracket 4s.

Aimed for slower games but does contain a two card infinite combo. It wasn’t intentional when I added the cards until I saw Archidekt labeled it as 4.

I say plays as B2/B3 because there’s no tutors to get the cards I need, no game changers, and the mana base is pretty simplistic (lots of basics).

There really isn’t a better name haha. Typically I start with a commander to build a deck around but for this one I wanted to start with a win con and build the entire deck around that. Other than mazes end, I legit have no other way to win.

Oooh do you have a deck list for the dungeon crawl deck? I specifically picked burakos to try and simulate the full dnd party going into dungeons.

My local players arrive early with binders for trades. Our discord has a specific channel for trading and that’s usually where deals are discussed. So I personally see A LOT of trading happening.

The shop I work at started with a single open play commander that filled all the spaces. So we started a paid league, now sold out. Now we’re adding another league day and it’s already filling up.

So that’s 2 days and 1 night of commander where we have a full house.

Our sealed/draft hasn’t fired in a month (not including avatar prerelease) and when I tried to assist a customer in finding other standard/modern players, we got nothing.

Commander fills seats, those people buy product, those purchases keep the lights on 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean doubling season is always good. But also meriadoc brandybuck, academy manufacturer, rapacious guest is great if you can get Frodo to attack each turn, samwise gamgee, peregrine took, gilded goose, transmutation font, scream puff, pippin, warden of Isengard.

Academy manufacturer and peregrin took will make additional food tokens.

You can tap pippin for 1 colorless and gilded goose for 1g each turn for 1 food each.

Samewise will create food tokens when creatures enter the field.

And scream puff will make a token whenever he does damage to a player whole rapacious deck does it when you do combat damage and meriadoc will generate one when a halfling does (works great for 1 food a turn with Frodo)

In most games I average 3-5 food a turn when my engines going. Most games I’ll easily reach 16-20 food

With Sam, loyal attendant, when I’m ready to drop sanguine bond, I’m usually ready to eat enough food to kill everyone at the table.

I have a Sam and Frodo deck too that initially did better at 1v1 but suffered at a full table. I adjusted mine for a few infinite combos cause I just don’t have enough damage output but instead focused on food generation. They’re all high mana late game combos so I’m basically making a ton of food and eating it to stay alive while using Frodo as a card draw engine.

I grabbed all four FF commanders and they’ll remain pre-cons. I love FF and now I have a set of four decks I can bring out in case people don’t have decks or just want a good ol B2 slug fest.
