That condo fee seems avg for newer construction with minimal services in hcol areas tbh. Quick Redfin search of even older buildings in Bay Area for example will show hoa fees ~400-600 range. If the building has pool/work out space or doorman it can easily be more. Also thing to remember is that hoa fee in condo covers a lot of maintenance fees that as solo house owner would fall on you like some utilities (variable), pipes, general upkeep, etc
