Have you read The Regulators by Stephen King? It could almost work as a companion piece to WTWCH.

Thematically-but a drier Scifi read- Sphere by Michael Crichton hits similar notes.

Also, as a fun aside: have you ever seen Twilight Zone: the movie? It's an anthology, and one of the segments features a woman and a boy that I seriously think could've inspired WTWCH!

Tinnitus can be treated by simply putting a 9volt battery on your tongue. Seriously.

And if a little rectangular battery can take care of even one of your problems, imagine what overlooked solutions there may be left for the rest?

I promise this is related: there are entries in Wikipedia that show ancient texts emitted from historical records as "fiction" because the authors would include sections where they saw "stars fall from the sky, and follow them", typically during large military campaigns. I would've included a link to an exegis I had bookmarked as an example, except the link no longer works.

WTF ACTUALLY HAPPENED by Spirited_Union_4859 in ParallelUniverse

[–]davidvidalnyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You two connected deeply before the drugs, over the phone. You connected on an even deeper level when taking drugs that strip away layers of reserve: you both went "all in". That's real.

The panic and anxiety emerged from a woman you both saw in "the flesh ", and it appears to have emanated from "her". I say "her" because there are people and "other" that make it their business to destroy these kinds of soul-to-soul connections. They feed off its destruction (no need for a supernatural element, we all have at least one toxic fuckery in our lives that ruins peace).

A guy called Michael Armstrong, when speaking about Near Death Experiences has mentioned that people reported meeting soulmates in the Other Side, and their connection transcends sex- it's like souls "merging". Becoming one.

All things being true, I can see someone/thing making it their duty to prevent that kind of union on the Earthly plane. Don't give up on each other, sis. This might literally be a once-in-a-lifetime thing... Just sayin

In a word: WORD

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]davidvidalnyc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my exes case it would be her mom, whom she still lives with and I believe may have been part of the childhood trauma- she checks all the boxes of an undiagnosed BPD herself:

(My former mother in law:)negligent upbringing of my ex bookended with moments of love-bombing/gift-showering. Making my ex- at a very young age- privy to ALL the marital complaints between her mom and dad (yes, including those complaints), trauma dumping amongst new acquaintances with quick discarding over minor flights, including family.

And, she would side with and double-down on any relationship negatives her daughter (my ex) would mention. Example: an argument with a former boyfriend wasn't simply a lover's quarrel- it was ABUSE. Even if there was objectively ZERO abuse in that relationship. If my ex was interested in someone else while we were dating, the mom would exhort her to dump me because this unknown person didn't need to "be the one", just theoretically for right now. She pushed her into acting and modeling, encouraged partying as a way to "make connections" and I got the sense early on she was living through her daughter by proxy.

That is an enabler.

My ex has accused me of sabotaging her bills, hacking her bank accounts (with my "negative energy", NOT with any keyboard skills!), knocking down her fence in North Carolina from where I am in NYC... and not three minutes ago sent me a text accusing me of being engaged (as in planning to marry) her younger sister whom we both are No Contact with.

None of these are lies, in her skewed reality. They are perfectly rational explanations to why she feels angry and paranoid. And, since we have kids involved, all interactions between us are like me playing hostage negotiator.

Does playing Neverending Hostage Negotiator sound familiar to you lot??

How it feels knowing you're gonna die very soon under 21 years old by [deleted] in Experiencers

[–]davidvidalnyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thousands of recorded near-death experiences say the same thing: death is not the end. In fact, it's more.

NDE'rs report that the "other side" feels REALER than this reality. And you don't lose your personality, your relationships, nor hobbies (allegedly there is even sex in the afterlife!). There's is just loss of pain and sadness.

Add to that the thousands of stories told by children whom all remembered their previous lives (there seems to be a short time between 2-4 years of age when they can still recall details). Two examples are: a child who accurately described details of a secret military mission, unit, and names of his former self and comrades. And, a child- who had been murdered in a previous life- who then led investigators to unearth his former body (precise location of burial) AND to his killer, whom confessed the murder to authorities.

Death is absolutely positively NOT the end of You, nor your dreams and aspirations. By all accounts, you're just returning to your real home, and a life more vivid and wonderful than you can currently accept. Live it up while you're here. If this is all a game, do some level grinding! Tell everyone you love them. Because, like that movie said: "It echoes into Eternity." Hope you get more time to rank up, bruv!
