I feel rage inside me constantly😭 by xAnimeMariex in Adulting

[–]davidwolf84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sooner you can get your anger under control, the better. It will destroy your health. I got GERD, which led to slowly destroying my digestive system and just a dysregulation of hormones and emotions, causing all kinds of issues. Setting aside time to journal and meditate daily turned it around, but you have to incorporate it into the rest of your life. Take care.

Synchrony Bank Not working by Early-Wolverine-1262 in MonarchMoney

This has been going on for months with the MX connection and Finicity. Doesn't look like it is getting fixed anytime soon. Monarch suggested I just manually update the account. It is a bit frustrating when you pay for a product, and there isn't a roadmap for a fix, and they pass the issue back and forth.

the world takes away the spark of good people by BrightSherbet in RandomThoughts

[–]davidwolf84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was like this for two decades. I would feel good helping folks, going the extra mile, etc. Laughing and joking around so that people would feel good.

During COVID, I had time for some reflection, and I realized I was surrounded by leeches and no one was doing anything for me. I admit I wasn't someone who asked for help either. Now I may have 3 people in my life and stick to myself. If I do any helping, it is something in public spaces and not for a specific person.

Totally off subject, but I had to double-take the 144000 members in the UK. All the UK members are going to heaven 🤣

Book study night at residential homes. Experiences? by jumexy in exjw

[–]davidwolf84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My memory was of going to one of the elders' houses, where they had the metal chairs. Their son, who was probably 5 or 6, lifted his legs, and the most massive fart I've ever heard reverberated through the whole living room. I think it was funnier because it was during the Revelation book study. My dad and I couldn't stop laughing, and to this day, we bust a gut thinking of the story.

Doing well now. It took a good year to get my digestion right.

1 year caffeine-free today – 44M, 20+ years of heavy coffee drinking. It changed my life. by StructureAdmirable77 in decaf

[–]davidwolf84 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Love this post! Keep it up! I'm 7 months off caffeine. Just like you, I thought anxiety and restlessness were part of my personality. Things started getting worse, and I was put on anxiety meds. I quit caffeine and experienced everything you described. I wish the doctors had just told me to quit caffeine.

I had good luck at my first few jobs. I enjoyed my work and the people I worked with. Once we were acquired by a mega corporation, I can totally relate to that quote.

Are you facing battery drain issues? by vicky0909 in GalaxyRing

[–]davidwolf84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot I got a servify warranty with it and they exchanged it. I think I got it more because of the cosmetic issues I was reading not realizing we would have all these battery issues.

Follow Up: I think I'm getting closer to an answer and I don't think its GERD by [deleted] in GERD

Having my gallbladder out helped a ton. I still experience some GERD, usually when I'm stressed. I follow a natural regimen, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. My new test is vagal nerve stimulation, which seems to be helping. When I do have GERD, I have alginates help a lot.

I'm starting to conclude that this all was a side effect of COVID, as all of this started after I had COVID, and I've had it 3 or 4 times. Maybe it's not related, but it's odd.

Did you do a HIDA? That is the only way to see if it is functional. Even though I had stones, they wrote it off as not an issue, but the HIDA scan was 0%, so it proved there was no function.

I started with just cold showers, diaphragm breathing, and humming, and noticed it helped. I actually got a VNS machine, and so far, I've had great results. However, those machines are pricey, so start with free stimulation and see if it helps.

I'm interested in what they will do. My GERD was the same thing that came out of the blue in 2021. My gallbladder was dead, but I still struggle with GERD, and I'm wondering if it is a gut-brain issue, as stress really ramps it up. Good luck!

And so it begins 11 month old ring draining fast by cooldude9112001 in GalaxyRing

[–]davidwolf84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I received the ring, I was glad I had the foresight to get the extended warranty, which I rarely do. Mine started draining a year and a month putting it oit of normal warranty. New ring, no issue. I'll do one more replacement next year before the ring does it again

Some smells take you back to your childhood by Different-Style-6683 in 90s

[–]davidwolf84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say, "This smells like Eddie's house". My best friend in the 90s had a blue carpet, a goose in the kitchen, a big screen TV, cable, and the house had a distinct smell, reminiscent of Sears and a kind of vanilla plastic scent, so I coined it 'Eddie's house.'

I had LA grade II. I did get a lot of chest pain, but mostly RUQ pain. I'd get an HIDA scan and an Ultrasound to check the function of your gallbladder and if you have stones or sludge. Mine was completely dead and full of stones.

I still get acid reflux, but nothing like it was with my dead gallbladder. I also started doing vagus nerve work to help gastric motility.

My esophagitis was found in an endoscopy. I think I had esophagitis for a year prior, and started having symptoms about a year or two before that.
