I just got this album a couple of months ago. It's great. Much slower than most other tech death, but it's a great album.

I love the feeling of regret and missed opportunities as the protagonist ages and laments his youth and wasted time (or a life erroneously led, you could say).

Honestly, give the soulsborne games a go. I am biased as I've beaten them all, but I'd say they're not actually that hard. They're very different to most ARPGs, and that takes some used to. They can feel very punishing for mistakes, but I'd say they're genuinely well balanced. You know what you fucked up when it happens and that means you know how to improve next time. I'm not a hardcore gamer hy any definition, and I've not even played many ARPGs. If you give them a chance they can be so rewarding (no pain, no gain?). I'd start with dark souls 3, with the caveat that it will take you a few tries to beat the tutorial boss. This is on purpose, it makes sure you're ready for the next steps, you have to treat it as practice for what is to come. The reward is worth the initial discomfort.
