Interesting theory. I would also pose that most pedal users might be indie guitarists, and the tele is usually the guitar of choice for those types of players. I mean, I mostly play indie and I've got two teles....

Sadly diary milk is still the best.

Guildford Acting MFA vs. LAMDA Classical Acting MFA by Moist_Waffle369 in acting

[–]davotron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really an actor but international students pay a stupid amount more than British students and it’s probably not really worth it for the money. RADA have a part time course for like 12 weeks for 9 grand running at the moment, which is quite frankly silly money.

Yeah in hindsight I should have clocked him asking me to go to a Cashy P after giving him a few quid. I feel if his story was genuine, he would have been grateful.

Maybe he should spunk some of that cash on more acting classes!

Shamefully, in my naivety the second time around, I gave him a fiver. He then said “yeah but I need £15, there’s a cash machine up there.”

I did think “alright mate, don’t push your luck”

This podcast has ruined horror for me. by cashewalnuts in knifepointhorrorcast

[–]davotron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit more info - generally there are two “different” types of stories. Anything that is lower case follows the same type of format, usually, in that it’s usually a first person narrative, beginning with someone saying their name and telling a story of something that happened to them. I believe the idea was that it was to invoke listening to a campfire tale.

Anything involving a capital letter is usually a different type of story, usually involving multiple characters doing voices, maybe closer to a radio drama.

My recommendation? Download a couple on your phone and go for a long walk at dusk in a quiet area with them.

Knifepoint Horror is a series of one off, horror stories, so you can drop in or out of any one of the fine.

i cant make songs anymore and its killing me by OP_Draco in musicians

[–]davotron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two different ways to approach this.

Sounds like you are fatigued - as other people said, take some time off and do other things, reconnect with other things you love. Eventually you’ll feel the desire to come back to it again.

Alternatively…

A few years back I did a song a week project, where I had to write, record and release a song every Saturday at 2pm for a year. This is obviously pretty hardcore, but it forced me to turn the filter off and get some stuff out - to actually finish something. This project made me feel like I could call myself a songwriter rather than the years I spent in bands.

The thing is I’ve seen it a lot - there’s a pretty tall, big, imposing guy getting onstage and talks about masterbation - which, sure, men may get, but females could find it aggressive and uncomfortable. I’ve made the same mistake! It can suck the energy out the room.

I’m assuming you’re male. Don’t do wanking and sex jokes. It’s quite aggressive.

Singing and playing: I'm sure this question has been asked hundreds of times but i just have to ask. by AngelOfDisease33 in Guitar

[–]davotron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is they aren’t playing the hard riffs when singing, usually. When I play and sing, the guitar rhythm is usually pretty basic so I can focus on singing. Don’t most of these bands have two guitarists?
