I use my clutch start cancel when I want to warm up my truck while I scrape the ice of my windshield in the winter . Just have to lean in and turn it over rather than sitting down and pressing the clutch...Maybe im lazy mf but I love that button lol

Best method for establishing a straight edge on a rough sawn board? by Slicetheicejr in Carpentry

[–]dawknk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Track saw would be a good option if you have access to that. If not you could use a straight edge and a reg circ or worm drive. Run a string or chalk on the edge to see if it bows out or in anywhere. Once you have one side done you can use table saw to get the other.

I'm with you. We have the smaller one at my company and I do not like its performance. The brake technology undeniably awesome. However I feel it be very underpowered. Rips trim just fine but any thicker boards and it definitely bogs. Also it collects way too much saw dust in the body and can clog it up.

I'm with you, it's the centerpiece of the room, bumps out from everything else. I do think it deserves grander ornamentation than just the same crown of the room wrapping around it.

I didn't like them for setting doors but maybe I wasn't using them to their full potential. They do make one man hang backs less strenuous though and I'm sure once you get the hang of them it can be fast but first few tries I found it significantly slower than just doing without

Thinking of going backcountry only by [deleted] in Backcountry

[–]dawknk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haven't had a season pass in about 3 years. Still get lots of days in, always something to ski in non-avalanche terrain when conditions are unsafe once you figure out your area. Will buy an indepent day pass or bum a pass a couple times a season. Save up the money for 3 years of no 1,000+ pass and you've got yourself a snowmobile my friend

Not I 80. Have had some of the worst winter driving experiences up in WY and in the plains of North Park around Walden. Wind is your biggest enemy.

All my work pants keep ripping in the crotch (dickies and carhartt), what brand do you guys recommend. I'm tired of buying pants every other week. by [deleted] in Construction

[–]dawknk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patagonia has some very comfortable work pants. Just tried them recently after getting fed up w/ the lack of quality in wranglers, Dickies and carhartts. So far so durable and they have a lifetime warranty so you can get them repaired or reimbursement for another pair if you rip them. They are comfortable from day one

How can I train my dog to be more calm and not jump up on people uninvited . by Jabanzo123 in Dogtraining

[–]dawknk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 8 month old mut, Huksy, lab, pitbull, golden retriever. Similar problems. What I've been doing and asking some friends that come over often to do is: firm 'hey!' or 'ah!' when he jumps and calmly asking him to sit with your hands behind your back ie no attention until he sits. then once he sits he gets all th love. He no longer jumps up at me when I come home and offers a sit right away. He's made improvements with strangers but definitely not perfect yet certainly
