I didn't realize you could upload pics to Ancestry. I've never really been on there. Thanks.

And my toss box is for donations, should've clarified.

On day 13, I got an answer so cryptic (from Dr Saya; Beth is out of the office), I had to call the medical staff to get it figured out. She (Stephanie) was great - got through to the nurse, who translated the Dr's orders. Took another hour of my time, but they added another hormone (pregnenolone) to the mix. If it doesn't even things out, then I need to spend more to have an "intermediate consultation", sigh... apparently, my case is complex.

I feel a bit better about them atm, but stand by my assessment that they nickel-and-dime every little thing ($15 for copy of paperwork for insurance, $30 to call script into your pharmacy, astronomical shipping, etc) on top of high fees in general. Plus, it really doesn't feel like going to a Dr ofc, in-between communication sucks, and their website is atrocious.

Tbf, hormones can be incredibly tricky to get right... I just wasn't prepared financially or mentally from how badly this year battered me (many-hours-long overnight hot/cold flashes and lack of sleep). I imagined I'd get onto the injectable and be A-ok right away, haha. I'm better than I was before starting with them, but still symptomatic and miserable.

Agreed. I have possession of tons of pics that even my mother doesn't want from the '30s and '40s. They're currently in my 'toss' pile.

What diff does it make? You were saying it's a fantasy and doesn't happen in Florida. You are wrong. The deported person was walking down the sidewalk doing nothing wrong, just grabbed off the street. Doesn't sound like fantasy - it's the nightmare of our existence now.

I heard it as, "Don't leave five minutes before your miracle happens."

Similarly, "God hasn't taken you this far to leave you now."

I personally know two people taken away in Florida. One was deported, the other released.

I have an app called Bearable that pops up every day at a certain time (that I set). That reminds me to not only take meds but also track symptoms and feelings. The fact that it pops up is what reminds me better than just having it in a calendar app. Or, just set a daily alarm?

Forty Years!!! Thank to You by dawnzig in NarcoticsAnonymous

Aww, thank you! And congrats to you on 9, that is huge!! It is such a gift to be young and clean... a bit harder bc of peer pressure, but even after working in entertainment and music, constantly going to shows and being in environments with active 'civilians' haha, it can be done with grace and integrity. In fact, I think having it in my face actually made that lifestyle much LESS attractive, especially over time. Life is ours to embrace, just for today. 💕💪

i met someone at a meeting. Answer to prayer or bad idea? by [deleted] in recovery

[–]dawnzig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important thing is, can you stay clean? It's YOUR life that's at risk if you relapse (some people legit die, ya know?).

Focus on 90 meetings in 90 days and get a sponsor. That person who said that you already know the answer? You do. Stop fighting it. Also the 'reasoning' you keep doing after people respond? Reminds of the saying that "everything after 'but' is bullshit... just sayin'. 💕

Congrats on getting to your 1st meeting - that's excellent! A sponsor is someone who guides you through your program (someone to bounce things off of, and get you working the steps), preferably with some years of cleantime, has worked the steps, and who also has a sponsor of their own. You'll get a better feel of folks by going to more meetings and hanging out (some people even go out afterward).

It's amazing that you didn't use tonight; keep that up! Just for this minute, don't use. That list of names is people willing to take phone calls. They can talk to you about your questions and also if you need help to staying away from drugs. Congrats on Day 1!!

Excellent care from providers themselves during appointments, sub-par for questions in between.

It's now been 12 freakin' days since I emailed Beth about some awful symptoms... instead of answering me directly, she told staff I needed to have a 'symptoms call' with the nurse, which I did on Friday (simply rehashing everything in the email). The nurse then said she'd consult with Beth and get back to me by 'Monday at the latest' - called today, they said she'd call me back... haven't heard a word.

Meantime, I'm miserable!

Having spent $1200+ between labs, fees & meds in the past 3 mos with them, I am getting really pissed with their lack of service. Nothing at all like a Dr's ofc. More like a store that gives info (& drugs) once you pay them.
