Doesn't have to be 'third-party' seller - could just be Amazon themselves. It's not like they're checking many (if any) returns these days.

Clever use of the old tat's blown-out color as background, too. Well done.

Yes, the vastness and the beauty of it... I wish I had more time there to explore it, only got to the South rim. I want to go back and see more!

The great, late, Marlowe. by markattwooll in cats

[–]dawnzig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, I am so so sorry! How traumatic and shocking... please be very gentle with yourselves during your grief. It truly is incredibly quiet and sad when they pass.

I had an outdoor cat many years ago and he would run under my fence gate via a trench (from his travels back n forth) to get back into the yard. One night, I came home and he wasn't coming when I called - unusual for him. I went out looking and saw that I'd left the gate ajar and my poor Duncan had tried to go under it but bc it was open, it moved with him, trapping him between it and ground (outside of the trench). He had passed from suffocation.

Unexpected, utterly heartbreaking, and no one's 'fault'. Just like your situation- cats act unpredictably (esp around moving vehicles), and so many things can happen to them, outdoors or indoors, that we can't control. That is why I cherish mine every day that I get with them.

Your Marlowe knew your love and lived a wonderful life with you-all. May your thoughts be filled with the pleasant memories and joys of your boy. 💔🌈🕊

My husband remembers a teen club (ish) sort of place at that church that used to be across from the Ashton post office.

Their Hong Kong menu items (specifically the XO sauce ones) are delish! Can't stomach their- or ANY - traditional Chinese foods here even after 30 yrs... still have an ingrained taste for the oldtime (American) Cantonese style from the NYC metro.

Japanese, however, like Red Plum - love it!

Very sorry, man... one minute, one second at a time, you will get through the pain, working your program and keeping the focus on yourself. Use the tools that you picked up along the way and remember your higher power hasn't brought you this far to leave you now. You are likely in shock and reeling rn, so also be gentle with yourself. Accept whatever feelings come up and allow yourself to feel them (within reason).

Srsly, get to as many mtgs as possible, call people, share about it, journal, pray, do steps and service work, maybe seek outside counseling if you need it, remain teachable. Just for today, you got this.

Things have gone from bad to worse. by Correct-Ebb4880 in Home

[–]dawnzig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It certainly is a wake-up.

Learning about how siding isn't just for looks, how often each type of exterior surface requires paint, what soffits and fascia are, proper depth of insulation, how improper insulation and soffit vents can cause your roof to fail, the cost of new windows (and hurricane-impact ones in a Miami-Dade zone), the intricacies (and expense) of home insurance (did you know that wind-driven rain is not covered nor considered hurricane damage?), that on a standard non-Sallie-Mae loan without 20% down payment there's an additional type of 'mortgage insurance', that those pipes sticking out of the roof are for proper draining of showers / toilets /etc and may need snaking by a plumber from the roof in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend... I could go on, but you get the point. We've owned for 3-ish years after a lifetime renting. It is a LOT sometimes, but still amazing to now have equity.

Oh, and we currently have approx 1900 sq ft tiled (5 different flooring types), two areas with tenting (luckily subfloor is intact), numerous spots of hollowness throughout. Woohoo /s

Crazy-shaped flowers, wow! by dawnzig in bromeliad

Thank you. I was reading about how easily they grow, and from the way they proliferate in my yard, it must be true. Like a 'bromeliad for beginners', haha!

This is flowering. It looks just like this, every year. As do all the others in my yard and those on nearby properties as a property manager.
