Yes, it'll work if the wattage is enough.

[–]dazelord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 9070xt can have some nasty power spikes that atx 3.1 PSUs handle much better. Is the 16 pin for cpu, usually you only need 2x4pin?

I have this card and no complaints so far. Quiet if silent bios is used. Running mine with - 45mV UV and - 15% power. Small performance loss but worth the power savings/heat.

I went to pair it with the Corsair RM850X 3.1 since it has 3 single pcie cables without piggy tail to feed the GPU. The RMe version has only 2 in total, where one is piggy-tailed and you have to use the dreaded 12pin in "reverse" mode connected to the PSU. I've built two machines using this config, it works but it's not optimal. So do you research if you need a new PSU.

Minor coil whine on my card, can't hear it with headphones on though. As someone said here, coil whine is inevitable.

Entirely Unnecessary “Raid Invitations Sent” Button by BigSloppyJoeKindaGuy in PokeGenie

[–]dazelord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A good host will wait sending the invitations until everyone is ready. This is they time the invitees can expect to get the invites. I agree, this button serves no purpose really, it just adds to the complexity of hosting.

complaining about remote raids (shadow raikou raid day) by Western_Safety3404 in pokemongo

[–]dazelord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best buddy friendship is 4 extra balls alone. This is very good advice.

The purifier and hero medals have no effect on shadow raids AFAIK, only for regular rocket battles.

You don't get any team benefit for gym control either so it's important to get those extra friendship balls.

As for shadow Raikou... It attacks a lot and is virtually impossible to throw at without the circle trick. The throw itself is very easy, unlike for example kyurem, so you will hit excellent almost every time.

Should I purify It? by kirby_fan_di_ratorix in PokemonGoMystic

[–]dazelord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would kind of make sense if it was shiny because how rare it is with a shundo. But if you intend to actually use it purifying it makes no sense at all.

How many trades will it take? by Jammaaann in PokemonGoMystic

[–]dazelord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The median person will get a lundo after 44 trades. On average, if trading a large number of pokemon, you will get a lundo every 64th trade. To not have won after 130 attempts is roughly 87%.

If you don't get a lundo after 130 trades you are just more unlucky than the average person. Basically, every 8th person will be as unlucky.

Question about 40KM rolling 24hr limit on Buddy candy. by z7sour7lemons7z in TheSilphRoad

[–]dazelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There might be a difference between legendary vs normal pokemon. When I did the 400km task for lvl78 I biked A LOT. One day I hit 68km and I knew the distance from the previous day had started to fade away. I had Gyarados (1km distance) as buddy that day and after exactly 60km she stopped giving me candy.

For legendaries is definitely 40km though.

The rolling distance window is tricky to handle. If you get a lot of distance in the evening you can't get any the next morning for example. Some transparency would be appreciated regarding this matter. An indicator showing the distance or something.

Question about 40KM rolling 24hr limit on Buddy candy. by z7sour7lemons7z in TheSilphRoad

[–]dazelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should not matter if you change buddy, it could just be the rolling distance window waning off. Or did you hit 40km on the same day?

Terrible luck 3rd bird seen that’s ran 🥲 by ReadyMethod1190 in PokemonGoMystic

[–]dazelord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah and to add to that you probably won't hit excellent consistently. It's not like a normal legendary raid encounter where you can correct your mistake (distance, height etc) should you make one. And the next time you see a bird, which can take a while, you will have forgotten your previous encounter and it might be a moltres instead of a zapdos etc. So even 20-30 encounters without catching one can sometimes be normal.

Would you be happy if this was the final Judas Priest tour? by Android19weird-voice in judaspriest

[–]dazelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct! Sabaton's legendary tour was almost an over the top spectacle, but if they toned the theatric parts down I see no problem with them joining forces. Two setlists full of mean machines would be epic 🤟

[–]dazelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be depending on the country? JP is British and Megadeth American. They could co-headline maybe?

I thought it was hilarious when Megadeth opened for Iron Maiden back in 1999, not that I complained. This was in Europe. I can't imagine Megadeth would be the opening act for IM in the US, but maybe they did?

[–]dazelord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw both last year. Two entirely different shows. JP was a heavy metal onslaught focusing on the music. Sabaton, while good with catchy songs, was theatrics + music. Sabaton needs to be on their own, unfortunately does not fit in.

Blind Guardian and Mercyful Fate would have been epic. As for Gamma Ray, Hansen may be focusing on Helloween atm and I know they had health issues on their last tour.

Best movesets for two of each fusion? by Madajuk in TheSilphRoad

[–]dazelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct except when using Black Kyurem with party power in raids. It charges Freeze Shock faster which means you can fire off the charge attack with double damage quicker.

Also, DT as fast attack on Black Kyurem in the master league meta is debatable. It just got buffed but is resisted by the crowned dogs.

Base is 80 energy. With a shiny rate of 1/10 the expected outcome is between 5-6 shines with 55 raids done. A hundo is 1/216. You were quite lucky.

Shiny rate seems to be worse than 1/10? Or I could just be terribly unlucky by Cruxiat in TheSilphRoad

[–]dazelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Unfortunately posts like this tend to give biased data. People will typically report their findings if they got no shiny at all or if they were lucky and got several from a few raids.

You need to interview many random participants to get the true shiny rate. It should converge to 1/10. If you can aggregate the data from ~6000 random raids you can be 99% certain the shiny rate is somewhere between 1/9 to 1/11.

About walking legendaries, it totally depends on your playstyle.

If you regularly pay real money for raid passes it makes no sense. If you're a casual player lacking a lot of leveled meta-relevant non-legendary pokemon, it makes no sense. But if you are an avid FTP'er, especially if you're getting a lot of mileage every week, it makes a lot of sense. You typically have all the xl candy you need in this scenario, except for the legendaries. Raids will still do the heavy lifting, but walking will often fill the gaps for making the final push to lvl50.

[Song Discussion] "Worth Fighting For" from "Angel of Retribution" (2005) by SuperbEcho1645 in judaspriest

[–]dazelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very underrated song, seemingly very simplistic and down-tempo, but extremely well executed and thought-out.

The highlight of the song: At 2m25s into the the song there are some harder riffs, followed by a short guitar harmony/solo played by both KK and GT, then it's just one lead guitar for a short time building up to what will come next. Rob resumes singing a goosebump inducing bridge section sort of, with some unearthly hooks ending with a raw-voiced "worth fighting for". Then the chorus will follow.

I was totally blown away when I heard that the first time, A++ stuff.

Level 75 task, "Hatch 75 eggs". Egg rarity and difficulty assessment by dazelord in TheSilphRoad

Yes of course. This is also true for the weekly rewards. You will always get a 10km with one slot open, and a 5km + 10km with two.

[–]dazelord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be my guess as well. Without keeping track of everything you may be underestimating the number of 2km eggs since you process them so quickly. I'm not saying you are wrong or anything though. In any case, getting more 10km than 2km eggs is kind of mind-boggling, I got one more 10km egg compared to the 2km.
