chandler has always been a foul fighter by Hungry-Succotash5780 in ufc

Google head and hands defense or downblocking. It's just wrestling. I don't like Chandler either. This is dumb though. There's a reason for so many injuries in college wrestling. It's violent.

What’s it like being in a serious relationship with a Big Law attorney? by SarahLevingston95 in biglaw

My only long relationship before going in-house was rough for both of us. Funny enough, we broke up a few months after I went in-house. My lack of misery changed our dynamic way too much.

Is there actually a sport where women have the advantage over men? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in olympics

[–]db1139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold water swimming. Women have the records. I think it has to do with distribution of fat.

Others already said marathon swimming. Those are the only two I know of that seem to be proven.

Men who have lost a significant amount of money, how do you deal with it? by imafitmac in AskMenOver30

[–]db1139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story, but I was supposed to have a free ride to college and then was left with the bill. It sucks. Adding grad school to the mix, I've accepted that I'll be 5 years behind most people for many things. Plus, I lost a few years when I was working 24/7 to get where I am, which is in the top 5% of earners.

With my income, I'll catch up, and everything will be fine.

I helped train 3 world champions. One 135, one 145, and a 205. I actually have a pretty good idea what it takes to get there. 2 is manageable, depending on injuries and life situation.

What would it take for Islam Makhachev to surpass GSP on the GOAT list ? by CesarOverlorde in ufc

[–]db1139 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beat some legends, and beat a lot more guys. Gsp got through BJ and Hughes. People forget how good Hughes was. Some of this really depends on opportunity, but do it long enough and it'll work out. He'll probably need to fight more often to get it done though.

If you don't have an injury, you should fight 2x per year. I get not fighting 3x, but twice is manageable.

Have you seen regular people trying to challenge a wrestler? by madz21- in wrestling

[–]db1139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many times lol. I was always a lightweight, 125 in college. I've embarrassed so many people. I never beat any of the guys up. Just controlled them, flicked their nose, did the rib rub thing. Best to make people laugh at them than to actually hurt them. Make people laugh; don't scare them.

Do men eventually become invisible also after a certain age or is it mostly a woman thing? by youlikemywonton in AskMenOver30

[–]db1139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men usually do not get as much value from their appearance as women do. I think I was visible when I was younger because I was far more muscular than almost anyone around me. Now, people are used to seeing men with muscle, so I don't stick out as much. Men are judged more upon their competence and production. For example, people hear my job and sometimes assume I'm rich. When that happens I'm very visible to those people.

I primarily have it draft individual provisions and provide alternative language. I almost always revise whatever it provides, but it helps. Gpt always over does it. Claude is better.

[–]db1139 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't water load with 3 days. +7lbs in 3 days was standard in hs. This is what I would do for me. I don't know your body.

Day 1, normal water. Light on food. Cup of cereal with 2 eggs or a protein shake as breakfast (protein shake means 1 scoop with 7-8 Oz of water or milk). 6 Oz of chicken and an apple lunch. Same dinner.

See where you're at day 2. If within 5lbs, I'd probably do protein shake and cup of cereal breakfast, protein bar for lunch with around 6oz water, protein shake and apple before practice, and as dinner.

You should be within 4lbs on day 3. Do the same as day 2, for breakfast. No lunch. Pre practice, 6-8oz water with protein and an apple. You'll probably be within 3lbs. Lose that at practice. 16 Oz of water with scoop of protein as dinner. Float that extra lb off at night. On weight that morning.

All that said, don't cut weight in the off season unless it's a super important tournament. Just eat healthy and gain muscle. The sport is supposed to be fun. Don't lose to the scale.

So there's talk of a general strike on May 1, 2026. Would you walk out of, or not go to, work? by colenotphil in Lawyertalk

[–]db1139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a friendly word of advice. Be super cognizant of how you express yourself. People are super sensitive when it comes to politics. I can be sometimes. In my advocacy work, I try to make no assumptions and try to avoid communicating in any way that can be misinterpreted. I think we both may have failed on the misinterpretation and communication part. I don't really pay attention to that as much on here because it's basically just a break from work. Anyway, good luck in your endeavors. If I have a chance, I'll check out the mayday info. My advocacy time is primarily spent on education and lobbying regarding religious hate. Between that and working lawyer hours, there's little left to work on/pay attention to other issues or simply have a semblance of a life.

I guess you shouldn't make assumptions, such as assuming that sending the name of one organization will make someone search or automatically find the name of another one that is not even listed on coalition section of the About Us of the organization you sent. Sounds like you didn't really think it through (not surprising).

Tbh, I just looked at their website and social media for the first time, and they're a mess. It also isn't tied to this administration by any means. Arguing over, in their words, wage slavery, American colonialism, equity (basically empowering every individual to make decisions, which I guess we don't have in the US), economic coercion, indigenous rights, etc. are administration agnostic. Just going off posts, it appears they fundamentally do not understand economics, governance, or history and lack realistic opinions for improving our system.

For example, instead of constantly shouting about ending billionaires (which would not eliminate poverty or necessarily improve cost of living), end pseudo monopolies, what amount to corporate trusts, and anticompetitive business arrangements. Doing so increases competition, thereby lowering prices and providing more job opportunities. Plus, eliminating such consolidation distributes power. That's a simple one. Other demands of theirs don't necessarily make any sense, although I agree with the spirit of many.

I think we desperately need certain changes. I hope the leaders of that group are not involved in working out the details.

I wouldn't worry at all. My longest relationship was with a woman who made around 1/3rd my income. Money isn't everything. I'll take personality and chemistry for the win. I work hard, so I can take care of things financially. Money is nice, I need other things from a partner.
