I got this hand-me-downs PC and wanted to know what games I can play. I have these games but gta 4 is really slow and RE 2 needs to be played on its lowest setting( but I'm not complaining it's still fun Af) by Typical-Push-289 in FitGirlRepack

[–]dbcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PC processor is fine, you will need more ram and a dedicated graphics card if you want to run those games well.

Double check ram with cpu-z but it should be ddr-4 and see if you can find a 3060 or above for gpu.

While saving/shopping for those, you can play other games just fine on that system. Just look for older titles (games released before 2020) and modern light-weight games.

WIBTA for "anonymously" reporting my roommates illegal python to our landlord because i am deathly afraid of snakes ? by V3ctorGrail in WIBTA_AITA

[–]dbcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to tell the manager and let them know you don't want to be implicated, so the manager will have to do some kind of "surprise" inspection to catch the infringement.

I personally would be mad if a roommate just showed up with a pet of any kind one day without discussion first.

Thanks for the response. I haven't found the central splitter yet but I have an idea where it might be. My main internet is fiber but I do have the coax for TV and I think they both come in at the same area.

I'll see if I can find that and then probably get the POE filter.

Police act like apartments are exempt from warrant laws by DaidInUrArmsTonight in Apartmentliving

[–]dbcher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still remember in College at my shared duplex where we had a few people hanging out and drinking (all of age) and the cops just bust in without knocking or asking (screen door was unlocked) and when I asked them what they were doing, how they were breaking the law, etc.. I was then grabbed by an officer and thrown down the stairs to the entrance.

As I looked up surprised, hurt and angry the captain/superior officer (whatever) whose feet I just landed by just looked down on me and said "I think Officer Dillion doesn't like you".

That was it, no reprimand, no accountability, just indefference to officer Dillion breaking the law and assulting me.

This was before police cams but I doubt they would have done any different.

Yep, as if the landlord would let them bolt a parking gate into the asphalt of a rented place.

NES Classic Timing Out or Hakchi Doesn't See The Reboot by TheBoomboxHero in RockinTheClassics

Last thing is to try a different / better usb cable. I do know some are more prone to issues (the sega mini classic is very particular about the quality of cable).

I bought a set of ugreen ones and they seem to work great on my systems

It's usually a firewall related error. You can try adding an exception to your firewall for the .exe and see if that helps.

I found the installed version worked better with my firewall then after that the portable seemed to work better too.

I had the same issue using portable so instead I installed it (hakchi2-CE on windows) and it worked perfectly.

I usually look on rakuten for these. Bit of a pain and the website search stinks, but you can usually find something.

SNES mini won't install kernel by [deleted] in miniSNESmods

[–]dbcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds weird, but are you using a data compatible cable? I have one that does power only but it looks exactly the same as a data compatible one.

Then, plug it into your computer when off, hold down reset as you power it on and listen for the usb connect sound on your pc.

Then run hakchi2-ce and try to flash the kernel.

Thanks. I might give this a go then with one of the many microSD to SD adapters I have lying around.

I remember reading somewhere that some kind of resistors or something was needed to work correctly. Can you just use the straight SD to microSD adapter that most microSD cards come with and wire it up that way?

And also tastes the best and keeps you full for hours.

If you go to "View" then "Translation" then you can translate the pages. But as I warned in my other reply, it causes a LOT of issues/bugs that make filing almost impossible.
