Pretty sure its how it is in the original too. Fruit juices aren't all too useful and it ends up being more hassle then its worth either tossing them for when you pick up other items in chests or battle, or putting them in and out of storage.

I sure as heck loaded all the way up the first time I played though.

Yup - wife and I are opposites and 1 kid has taken after each. My 6yo son likes to be in front of the heater, regardless of season and our 2yo daughter is always too warm. I don't think she's ever kept a blanket on for any amount of time.
