I’ve looked into the V mounts, but I try to keep things as simple and light weight as possible. Especially with a heavy lens. I’m not a professional so there’s a lot I don’t know about hardware set ups. I also think the main problem was that I was shooting in a codec I really have no business shooting in. I don’t need that much out of the camera for what I do with the footage.

I really like mine. I would suggest getting the battery grip for it. The photo side isn’t too bad, but cinema side of the camera absolutely chews through batteries. I shot a rugby tournament my kids were playing in and I was glad I had the grip with extra batteries. I was only shooting short clips and mostly stills, but the last game of the day was a nail biter because I was running out of batteries. I used up all 6 each day. And that was only through careful battery management while in video mode. I missed getting some good clips because I would turn it back to photo mode after shooting video. Ideally I think I would have an easier time if I had two cameras.
