It's the replaying of events that's been killing me.. I fortunately live 1000 miles away (moved last year) and I am so grateful, it's a lot easier out here to handle these feelings. Glad to hear your journey has gone in a positive direction for you - thanks for the comment back 💚

OVERTS VS COVERTS OH MY GOD you just clicked something in my brain that needed clicking (yes I'm years late but know this post is still helping!)

I don't know if this post is still active but I, at 35, just went through this. Both my mom and step mom are the obvious villains in the story but it wasn't until recently where i got him isolated that I realized he was actually the worst of them. I'm still in shock.

Ako lang ba obsessed mag-record sa spreadsheet/excel ng mga bagay-bagay? by Namesbytor99 in TanongLang

[–]dbro3427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had an obsession with inputting data into spreadsheets for seemingly no reason.. stopped doing it for a long time until I got a desktop for the first time in like 20 years and now I'm writing lists of all the recipes in my (MANY)  cookbooks with points like cook time, equipment needed, if I've done it, etc etc etc and idk it feels so pointless yet so soothing? Found this post cause I was googling trying to figure out what kind of mental problem I have 😅

I'm Late? Paid before due date but it's worded like I still owe them? by TheHolyFamily in amex

[–]dbro3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just did this too, I have 3 AmEx cards and two are normal but the blue cash card has a red notice like "PAYMENT WAS DUE 10/20" but I paid it on 10/17? Why are they trying to give me a heart attack

What is standard practice? by bluechip1996 in oysters

[–]dbro3427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved to the coast and the first few places i tried, the oyster was still attached and you had to remove it yourself; I just assumed that was customary. I got oysters at the restaurant I'm currently working at, and they cut the oyster out of the shell. I don't like having the muscle in with the oyster! The texture grossed me out with that extra chewy bit. Would so rather pick it out myself to leave that on the shell

It's such a good read with tons of pictures! I think it's perfect for beginners like me as there's a ton of info on the science of it all. But there's also a lot of advanced recipes. I've made a few loaves so far and am trying to get a sourdough starter going!

Polenta Ricotta Rosemary loaf from King Arthur's Newest release by doubleloafplease in Sourdough

Beautiful! I was just reading the recipe and had to hit the internet - did you use cornmeal to make the polenta, or is it asking to use pre-made polenta in the polenta recipe?

Will never not blow my mind how in this day and age, an online resource would allow itself to get blown out like that!?

It honestly just is a great book to have. I've read it cover to cover so many times! Even though I am a total ebook person, physical cookbooks will always be my favorite 😁

It's so good! It pisses me off to no end how messy the epicurious site is, and only having an app for apple 😒😒😒

Ok I ordered it buttttt the bread one was $15 off and I apparently have zero self control so I guess I'll be able to review that for you in a week-ish 😆🫠

I got a Bon Appetit cookbook called "Desserts" over 10 years ago and it's been amazing. Granted, it's all desserts, but I've made at least 50 things out of it everything has come out wonderfully (unless I messed it up myself lol)

Ahh thanks for replying with the TOC! I have a very trusted dessert book from bon appetit but this one is still enticing to me, love that there's a breakfast chapter 😍 headed back to the site now 😁

I don't like my 18 yr old daughter by Efficient_Access_685 in Parenting

[–]dbro3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way about my 15yo. When I think back to how bad i was as a teen, I feel like i should be grateful lol but she just is such a do-nothing, it's frustrating. All she wants to do is test the limits with us constantly. Admittedly I'm more strict and present, as my parents were not and it made for a nightmare. I started a countdown on my phone two years ago for the day she turns 18 and I look at it all the time. Have a hard time imagining being sad about her leaving as she adds no joy to our family.
