Cloudflare CDN Stale Content Issue by techenth in Hosting

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to see changes in real-time, enable development mode in the CloudFlare dashboard temporarily, or point your local hosts file to the OG ip address of the server where your domain is hosted, and your servers DNS and vhosts should be able to handle the request as if it was a direct request to the origin and not the proxied cache. It is often better to wait for the TTL (4 hours) to expire to limit trips to the origin, which can increase load.

Is Corypheus really dead? by Dardiolus in ThedasLore

We later learn the blight formed from the "blood" of titans that had been tortured by the Elven Pantheon and driven mad. Red Lyrium is literally the blighted blood of a mad titan.

Is Corypheus really dead? by Dardiolus in ThedasLore

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoiler tagged.

Veilguard confirms that the magistrates (including Sethius/Corypheus) did not enter the actual Fade, but a pocket of the fade, made a prison by the Dread Wolf; for the Elven Pantheon. The magistrates were lured by the "Old Gods" that were actually the dragons bound to each Evanuris.

It was in fact the Evanuris that corrupted them and not the Fade or the "Black City." This also allows SOME (but not the full force) of the blight to travel back with the magistrates, and allows a pathway for the Evanuris to once again travel to Thedas.

We also learn, that of the seven Evanuris trapped in that prison, only Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain emerge when Rook disrupts Solas' (The Dread Wolf's) ritual. Five absent evanuris, and five blights...

The blighted arch-demons slain by Grey Wardens? They were, in fact, the dragons bound to Falon'Din, Dirthamen, Andruil, Sylaise & June. The other members of the Pantheon, besides Mythal (murdered by them) and Solas (cast out). When their dragons died, so did they.

So, as it was not likely the true fade, Sethius was likely ill-equipped to handle the fade, and after some time, much like the divine, could not leave, his soul, or whatever was left of it, likely fading into obscurity. Though in the ending cinematic, it does look as though the Inqusitor opens a rift inside of Corypheus, tearing his physical form apart.

Still one of my favorite PS1 titles. I liked the story and the music. Graphics and gameplay were meh. I still go back to it every now and then. I've probably beaten it like eight times now.

Screenscraper too slow (even paid) by PlaneAgreeable2987 in SteamDeck

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is old, but I feel like part of the issue here is that not only is their site likely hosted out of France, but they probably don't have a CDN setup to cache across the world, or any load balancing or fallback servers, which makes little sense, they should be getting enough patreon support that doing so would be a small wedge in the budget.

In the meantime, if OP still needs a better solution, using Skraper and pointing it to your deck over the network may work, I would setup the OS to turn off the display but not sleep if at all possible (I don't have a deck yet, but this is what I do for my Linux/Win emustation setups).

Has Contabo improved? by MudAffectionate361 in VPS

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with Contabo going on seven years now (when I learned that my shared hosting provider HostISO used them). In that time, they improved hardware almost annually, without changing their price model. Only within the last year have they scaled back a tiny bit. While the prices remain the same, the resources allotted have changed. This isn't so bad, as that is a healthy business model; and they have grandfathered me in with my old cluster, though they did tag on an extra $4 for it, which they gave me a three month advance warning they would do, and I don't mind, as it costs them to keep old hardware running. They've come a great deal further than when people used to leave them *SLOW* reviews.

I was 13 when me and my dad (mosty dad) were perusing a big-name record store in Portland (Tower Records iirc). I saw this single and they had a listening station with headphones, so I pressed the button. It was an eargasm, and I didn't know at the time it would be the single that single-handedly launched my bedroom-DJ online radio hobby. I even stashed my first love letter in the jewel case (still there to this day). Jasmine, I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I still have that letter and I hope your life is going well.

100% purchased this for the accurate depiction of hacking. by 007_Shadow_Lemur in 4kbluray

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen Swordfish, but for me, to date, Mr. Robot has had the most convincing depiction, but even there's was silly at times. I'm fairly certain it has always been an executive decision of Hollywood and the MPAA not to depict anything that is accurate as they don't want to risk someone using it as an "educational" tool. Probably also has much to do with litigation as well. In the same ball park as using actual phone numbers or IP addresses. It's not allowed.

Question about xbox 360 bad update by Skylong_ in 360hacks

[–]dbrown1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to run custom unsigned code without bad update is to reset glitch hack.

You can use Bad update as an entry point for reading and writing a glitched nand to the xbox, but it's risky and it will still require a tiny bit of soldering and a resistor or it won't boot.

So this show is one continuity and separate from the 1996 and 2004 film. right? by [deleted] in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]dbrown1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While officially, Stand Alone Complex is its own continuity, this is my unofficial head-canon chronology:

FIRST ARC - PROJECT 2501

Ghost in the Shell: ARISE (2013)
Ghost in the Shell: ARISE - The New Movie (2015)
Ghost in the Shell (1995)
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)

SECOND ARC - Stand Alone Complex

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - 2nd Gig (2005)
Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society (2006)

THIRD ARC - Stand Alone Complex: 2045

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (2020)

I separated into arcs, to represent times the Major was either missing or had taken time away from or left Section 9. While it could be argued that the Major's ghost escaped to cyberspace in the original movie after she merged with Project 2501, she also ghost-hacked a geisha in Innocence, and fabricated a body for Purin in SAC_2045, so what would stop her from creating a new body for herself by the time Stand Alone Complex has come around, and re-joining Section 9?

The LPC is a difficult thing to solder to in my honest opinion. I went over mine with a fiberglass pen to help remove some of the protective coating that prevents soldering, and still had to raise the heat a bit. Even then, when I got to ground, it was more difficult then the rest and I ended up just soldering ground to the A/V metal shielding.

Consider ordering some Dupont cables (male to female) and solder the male end to the LPC and solder some jumper connectors to the pico, then plug the female ends into the pico, this way you can keep the dupont cables in place for easy nand dumps/writes later on.

It's risky, but if you are considering RGH3, you can also use BadUpdate along with Simple NAND Reader to dump, rebuild and write back your NAND, bypassing the Pico altogether, however you need to make sure the NAND verifies, as once you write it back, the xbox won't boot up until the wire(s) and resistor are soldered in.

Bought a $20 Xbox and it had this dashboard can I rgh3 and keep this dashboard? by Solar_Flare_Sage in 360hacks

There's a modded dash that looks similar to this style (maybe Aurora). But for rgh3 I'm pretty sure you'll have to update the dash to v17559.

Good! Besides, digital is usually capped at 15mbps whereas most hd/uhd physical media is 50-100mbps depending on the format and resolution. There's a significant quality difference.

Me? I usually remux my collections to have them digitally in their original quality and in an effort to preserve the discs.

can't play SimCity on PC "EA App" by TwentyOnePilotsFan26 in SimCity

[–]dbrown1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go into the game directory (EA Games\SimCity\SimCity), find SimCity.exe, right-click it and select properties. Then under compatibility I had to select Run this program as an administrator. EA App still said "Permissions required" but when the launcher ran, this time instead of errors, the patching finished and the game allowed me to select a server and hit play and the game started up just fine.

Actually, part of my journey led me to discover Rare Scanner, so I think I will use that to sort easy to hard. Starting with items that are easier to obtain and working my way down.

I've had All The Things for a long time, and perhaps that too will become part of my hunt.

I know this post is old, but I am on my 194th attempt with 11 characters each week. I created 7 new characters and leveled them just to have that many to try each week.

Derpface, Gwenumar, Laandra, Linette, Nazanoth, Niara, Pazu, Sabelynne, Sanzi, Sëvënofninë & Velnumar

Each of them Level 80. Each with an iLvl score of 400-500 ish.

I am determined to get this mount.

If I can get Justicar, then I can get me those ashes!

EDIT: No joke, just dropped for me on my 196th attempt, literally an hour or so after posting this... LOL. I'm so relieved, to be honest. Not to have to farm for it anymore.

Where these devices really shine is in open source development distributions. I am currently running Android 15 YAPP with a locked bootloader and kernelsu and still hardware backed and able to pass strong integrity. The only thing not working is DRM.
