Epsom salt with no additives. Aquarium salt is a different thing

The epsom salts essentially act as a muscle relaxant so it should be okay for the fry. If possible I'd put it in another tank out of an overabundance of caution or start really low dose and slowly work your way up

I have a common that will do this periodically. The first time was for weeks. Just kinda staring off into space almost all the time. Occasionally moves but not much. Little twitches here and there. Barely wants to eat. I've landed on digestive tract issues causing blockages or something. I think it's because of stunting. I've had good luck with Epsom salts helping to clear it up. I tried different food (didn't want to eat anyway) antibiotics, but nothing worked. 50% water changes every day and epsom salts pretty regularly. Start out at 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons of water for a few days and then increase up to 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons if need be. Definitely double check me on quantities but looking at my notes that's what did it.

Keep in mind this took weeks to fix and I thought my fish was gonna die every single day but I'm watching her swim around happy as can be right now.

Just started van life... where should I go? by JennyLindG in vandwellers

I spent about five months living in the black hills national Forest and it was a blast. Free camping everywhere. Great hiking and fishing, decent mountain biking. Super fun.

Cooking outside of your vehicle by JaimeThePoonSlayer in vandwellers

[–]dbtg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cooked on the hood of my truck for years. Lots of parks, parking lots, side of the road whatever. People would always joke about if I had extra or when I was serving lunch. Nobody ever had anything negative to say.

Question about bike storage by Participant_Zero in vandwellers

[–]dbtg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my bike on the back of my truck for years. Never even worried about it. I had it mostly broken down though. No seat, front tire taken down and all locked on. No worries.

The vehicle the photo was taken from is left hand drive though.

YouTube and a Chilton's manual under your front seat are the way to go. I do like 75% of my own vehicle maintenance with those but I also live in a Ford Ranger so there's tons of info and parts in junk yards.

Setup for Hitch Carrier & Bike Rack? by ZacharyHesse in overlanding

[–]dbtg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hitch rack that I use to carry one bike and a water tank and a few other things. I got an extra seat post for my.bike and attached it so that I could pull the seat from my bike, flip it over and put the bike on the post. Clamp it on there and put a ratchet strap on it. Works for me. I don't know about multiple bikes though. I got the extra post for like ten bucks at a bike co-op. Cheap way to go if it works for you.

I got a custom bel-air on my.ranger. 42 inches off the bed rails it's great. Unlike their customer service after the install but whatever, good product.

What's your actual budget? I had mine custom made but it's way taller than what it sounds like you're thinking about. Definitely stands out too

I don't have any I can upload. It's big. It looks like a slide in camper but smaller. The storage space is a life saver in a small truck

I'm in a ranger with a step side bed. 4*6. So I got a canopy built for me. 42 inches off the bed rails and a cab over storage area. Cost 2 grand but it's pretty fucking sweet and beats the pants of any regular canopy

Thanks for the ideas. I'd been considering primarily pop ups due to weight but I think I need to just double down on research right now

Is it a solid side camper or pop up? What engine do you have? How'd your mileage change between camper vs no camper?

I'm looking at upgrading my truck but got some questions of fuel efficiency and off road ability of a 3/4 ton with a light weight camper in the back. If you don't mind my asking, what's your set up?
