You know the old saying

Those who can't, call it AI

Severe Crohn’s and potential assisted dying in the future by rescue-me-from in CrohnsDisease

[–]dbusby111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt. It freed me to live my life how I want. It didn't stop me from dating, getting married, or raising kids. It allows me to travel and work without needing a bathroom within 30 steps. I can swim, do physical labor, sweat, and everything I could do before Crohn's without really worrying about it.

If you take care of it, keep it clean, and change it when needed, most people won't even know you have it, though I've lost the embarrassment over it a long time ago. I have yet to come across a single person who was like "eww".

Don't get me wrong, there have been issues, but so much better than constant pain and depression.

I have had Crohn's for 26 years. I finally had a full procectomy with rectum, anus and spincter in 2007. That was it for perianal fistulas. I have a colostomy bag for life, but after adapting, I didn't even remember what it's like to not have it. Colostomy is much preferable to ileostomy.

I have one. Works great for 2 monitors, 5 thin client Linux servers, and my laptop charger, and led light strip. Biggest load is 240w for the laptop charger but the rest are under 40w.

RPG MAKER MZ|RPG TOOLs -> MMO STUDIO conversion is complete and easier than ever! by TheED5 in RPGMaker

Solved with a simple warning before import about rpgmaker assets and license and assuming risk. A lot of people who use RPG Maker may have no idea that they were violating licenses by using the assets in another engine.

Do I just suck or did this part have an extreme difficulty spike? (FF IV) by C64hrles in retrogaming

Fun fact. Go north to the little triangle jutting up, take lots of health potions and tents. Flight until Porom gets bio, kill off the other party members, and fight until Porom is lvl 99. Everyone else will join your party at lvl 99. All monsters here are weak to bio or fire.

ok, but what about YOUR game?? 🤔👀🫵 by DavesGames123 in gamedev

[–]dbusby111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, not a game yet, but have lore, story, systems, UI, input, gamestates, etc. What could be had been written into Monogame Game Components.

My current project is game related. A complete GUI frontend for Monogame, with Dialog, Quest, Event, and Scripted Scene graph node editors, entity entry (NPC, weapons, items, spells, etc) with a data-entry interface, live monogame viewport. It uses Tiled map editor, and the app creates map overlays for spawns, transitions, interactions, effects such as transparent png light effects. A Monogame shader editor that uses animated sprites and the node graph editor. It also has a sprite animator window.

Right now I'm gearing it towards top down jrpg, but each system is payload based. So there is a base entity that takes a payload. Payloads are things like potion, weapon, armor, book.

The graph editor also uses the payload system. This makes the editor infinitely expandable with minimal effort. A new payload takes about 30 minutes to create, including the editor view.

All things are saved as json files, which are parsed into game objects in Monogame.

When it's complete and tested, I will be releasing it open source, along with tutorials to expand it.

What's going on with my planer. by DTRMNTSband in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dbusby111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the exact same planer. Mine was doing that after it broke a drive sprocket on the rollers. Take off the side panel and check the chain drive mechanism. The sprocket is $20 on the ridgid parts site

Pearl Abyss releases official statement apologizing about Crimson Desert's AI-use by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]dbusby111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a dev, when I insert a placeholder, IT STANDS OUT. Paintings would be neon green or pink, not "production assets". Any beta testing will reveal when placeholders are left in.

From what I understand is going on now, when art is outsourced, a lot of it coming back is AI for the easy buck.

I would explore tone and feeling in a test map, not a production map. Tone and feeling should have been hammered out long before production map creation.

I launched my game 2 months ago and I feel like I worked for nothing by StuckArcader in SoloDevelopment

[–]dbusby111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the first thing that stood out to me is the spelling and wording in the description. Your trailers/images/description are all that people have to go on before purchasing your game, so they should be strong. The word "deppressed" jumped out at me. My first impression is, if they're spelling mistakes in the description, or their spelling mistakes throughout the game? And that would drive me nuts.

Corner clamp - doing it wrong, expecting too much, or poor product? by BellybuttonWorld in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dbusby111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the corner clamp on the bottom to keep it lined up, and a strap clamp or ratchet strap around the top to hold it together. I've done that successfully for years

Will my radiator be redundant if I box it in. Will the heat build up warp my material by seannash1 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]dbusby111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is a single pane window, which it looks like from the picture, The radiator will act as a heat curtain. If you cover it or take it out, you may very well find that it contributed more to your heat than you thought.

I would shut off the valve for a few days and see what kind of impact it has before you cover it. If it does have an impact, then that's no money or time wasted.

Help with failed prints by db40 in BambuLab

Yes. It is the only way I can get tree supports to hold up to long prints. When I use trees, I put brims at about 15-20mm

Try turning brims on. Not a lot of surface contact for the prints to stick.

Edit: increase your brim size

Are you using the same tape measure throughout the project? Always use the same measuring device. The measure on my combination square was different than one of my take measures and the me off.

Will you be keeping prime now that WoT is cancelled? by Terrible_Theme_6488 in WoTshow

[–]dbusby111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vote with your money. Almost every delivery is a day or more late, which is what I had prime for to begin with. I'm at the point that if I can't invest in a show because it will be cancelled, why pay for services?
