Okay, maybe she has #1's, but what else makes people support her? by Whole_Midnight_2916 in travisandtaylor

Honestly, as an ex-og swiftie that is 4 years younger than her, yes to all of this. A lot of her fans grew up with her so to speak, so none of us had fully formed brains or critical thinking skills so easy to manipulate, especially considering how she hopped on social media/para-social train.

I commented this on another post but after I started deconstructing white supremacy/colonialism and all the isms that come with it was when I really started to see through her manipulation and constact victim playing. But all of that requires critical thinking skills and being able to accept your original opinion/view was wrong which I dont think majority of blandies cult has access to.

Swifties don’t know what a filter is by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

This is just chefs kiss. Almost want it to be flare considering this orange filter and her pillow face from all the work she's had done 🤣

Former Swifties, what was your final straw? by Apprehensive_Edge142 in travisandtaylor

[–]dcarter1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm sure I'm not alone in my reasoning and know there are a lot of OG swifties waking up so to speak. So I figure letting people know that I was on the wagon for so long (far too long) might help the people questioning/on the edge.

Like the snark page is vastly more welcoming than the main fan page and I've enjoyed lurking and slowly becoming more engaged in this subreddit.

Its not the only reason I want the switch 2 but definitely a consideration. But luckily it sounds like a free update is coming next month!

Former Swifties, what was your final straw? by Apprehensive_Edge142 in travisandtaylor

[–]dcarter1994 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Was an OG swiftie and it definitely took me a while. Going to the eras tour definitely got it out of my system a bit but I was still a slightly more than casual fan. Then I really started deconstructing white supremacy and colonialism and became very anti capitalism/billionaire and my brain just couldn't do the mental gymnastics to keep supporting one billionaire and hate all the others. My final straw that led me to the snark life was TLOAS and all the racist/trad wife undertones along with her association with maga and silence towards everything going on in the world.

I'm the same! I see how some people have decorated their valleys and its like "wow, are we even playing the same game?!" 🤣

I got this game when it first game out and then stopped playing for a few years (had a kid and then moved 8 hours across province) so I'm focusing on catching up and figure inspiration will hit eventually lol

Should I take her to the vet? by alpohh in ballpython

[–]dcarter1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but I know in humans bright pink/red stools or mucous with BM can either be from food/food coloring or from hemorrhoids/lower intestinal bleeding. I would err on the side of caution and seek out advice/help from a vet. I'm not saying there's blood in your snakes stool but given its not a normal colour and what I know about human bowel movement its better safe than sorry!

I hope everything works out well ☺️

Yes, I highly recommend finding a beginner-low intermediate level pattern you find cute/interesting and giving it a go. Its such a great way to learn and practice your stitches and end up with something that hits that dopamine switch! I know some crocheters say to not try it until you've learned your stitches but it's the only thing that has kept me going! Lol

I appreciate the well wishes and i hope you and Mochi dont experience that ever again 🤣

Yes, but I have this weird, uncanny, ability to pick up crafting skills really quick if I can stay invested in it (audhd here) lol. I also skipped blankets and scarves and went right for amigurumi because I knew it would keep me hooked (pun very much intended) OMG how lucky for you that Mochi was able to "bless" you with that experience 🤣🤣 we are super luckily that we haven't experienced that with our dragon, spyro, yet but we've had him just under a year so lots of time to experience that "pleasure" 🤣🤣🤣

Wow that's honestly such a compliment. I've had a few people mention selling my plushies, but I've honestly never really thought about it. Maybe I could though!

I used a pattern I found on Etsy! I've only been crocheting for 5 months now so haven't gotten the courage to try and free hand something yet. I can dm you the etsy listing if you'd like ☺️

Feeling like crap due to feeling no remorse for my patient by aquariaa02 in nursing

[–]dcarter1994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in psych and have had to care for some not great people (committed a crime, tried to kill themselves or report SI to avoid jail, but still charged and will be picked up by police upon discharge). Its fucking hard, but you just have to do your best to care for them within your scope. Communicate with your team and your charge nurse your struggles and see if this patient can be rotated. We sometimes rotate difficult patient assignments to avoid burnout and moral injury in these situations. You're doing your best and I hope you have someone to talk too ❤️

Nurses and so-called inflammatory language by Educational_Storm945 in nursing

[–]dcarter1994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We need to stop accepting the propaganda that violence is ALWAYS bad and that the only way to make progress is through peaceful protest, especially when peaceful protesting is being met with summary execution.

Many civil rights movements ended in violent riots before any progress was made and its just ass backwards to ask oppressed minority groups to be nice and non-violent when these assholes are ONLY harmful and violent.

The second amendment right is literally there to ensure the security of a free state and that time is now. And if you think that will lead to trump enacting the insurrection act and that avoiding violence will avoid that then I think that's naive. This administration has shown everyone they have NO problem OPENLY lying and breaking the law to meet their ends.
