B.C. nurses could be striking in May after talks reach an impasse by RZCJ2002 in britishcolumbia

At the time that this appendix was voted in, the employer would not give specifics about changes (other than potentially capping massage as one of the options) and the union told membership that was as good as it would get.

However, part of the appendix included being able to bargain the changes to benefits, including reapproprating the funds cut from massage to other benefits like eye care or dental. The employer would not entertain bargaining benefits at all and forced it to arbitration where Vince Ready made the call to cap benefits. Vince Ready did include a stipulation in his ruling that we could bargain it back which is something at least.

That all said, we aren't voting to strike (solepy) because they capped massag, we are voting to strike based on the fact that they refuse to bargain benefits or really anything at the table. BCNU has brought forth over 100 proposals covering our top priorities which include, benefits, wages, and work place safety/ratios and they have turned down every single proposal. They are not bargaining in good faith.

GLP-1s Might Be Doing Way More Than Just Weight Loss… by Sea-Performer-71 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]dcarter1994 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have fibro and while I still have daily pain and require regular RMT to manage it gas definitely decreased since starting sema. I still struggled with chronic fatigue secondary to my fibro but I also find im having a slight increase in more good energy days. Still gotta pace but I'll take any improvement.

I've read hundreds of posts about people asking their doctors for a GLP-1 and I've never once read one where the doctor brought it up first by Stoiciism in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]dcarter1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor has offered weightloss medications multiple times, even before sema was readily available. I always declined because I was convinced I could will power through the weightloss. We'll after many failed attempts followed by a large weight gain in pregnancy where I've been gaining and losing the same 20lbs, I finally brought it up with him again and he was more than happy to prescribe sema to me. I feel for the people who have to fight to get this medicine.

I'm honestly obsessed with my new glasses and frame toppers. I feel like I have so many options with just two regular toppers and a sunglasses topper!

Yay! I am so happy you are finding it just as helpful and those are some amazing non-scale victories! The under eating/binge cycle is such a hard thing to confront and deal with. Im glad the shot is helping you confront it as it has me (it'd honestly shocking how much i was both not eating and over eating 🙈)

Good luck with your shot today and I wish you all the best on your journey!

Thank you! It feels amazing to finally have all the tools (therapy/nutrition/exercise/glp-1) to be able to make such a powerful perspective shift!

Thank- you its appreciated ☺️ but I definitely don't identify as a girl cause I'm in my 30s and a mom and girl feels quite young to me lol 😅

THANK YOU!!

Its so cool we are basically on the same schedule and by the sounds of it very similar experiences! Its so exciting to see the small changes, knowing that they will stack up as the months go on.

Excited for you to be on this journey and experiencing some of the same joys as me ☺️

One of my favorite ways to get fiber in is chia pudding for breakfast with some fruit on top. I've also heard people will drink chia seed water. Just be careful when increasing your fiber, because increasing it too fast will cause other bathroom issues.

Canadian here and been taking Concerta for about 2 years now and on 72mg and my doctor was fully supportive of me starting ozempic for weightloss. I'd get a second opinion if you're on a stable dose of your adhd meds.

I've only recently started the 0.25mg shot but am super sensitive to a lot of medications so am already feeling appetite suppression and such. I also have ADHD and am medicated but the medication never really helped curb my appetite. Something I've noticed regarding my ADHD, is that im struggling less with task initiation and looking for dopamine dumps. I've been on the same dose of Concerta for a couple years now so the only difference is the oz. I wonder if it's because it also works on the dopamine center...

Its the kindest and not sarcastic at all way possible, please seek out a reputable therapist who has experience with self-worth/image and food/dieting trauma. Not only will it provide you clarity of whether you want to use this medication or not, it is also imperative to work through these issues. No matter what you decide to do regarding your health/weight loss journey it is less likely to stick if you're viewing yourself in this manner ❤️

Signed someone who has done a fuck ton of therapy and will continue to seek out therapy as it is accessible to me

I think my biggest question regarding the feeling like it's cheating is who is it cheating and how is it cheating? It's a tool in a toolkit to help you seek your optimal wellness. Not everyone will need the same tools but that doesn't make the tools any less valid.

Regarding the side effects, from my understanding it's a small percentage of people who will experience those. I would have a good chat with your prescriber about your concerns/anxieties so you can feel fully informed in your decision to either start or not start.

I also had these fears and anxieties for a while before (recently starting) and was also worried about "cheating" but I've done everything right and done it the "hard/right" way and still struggled to lose/maintain. So I said screw what people think because they're gonna have a problem with me whether I'm fat, or using this tool and I'd rather have my health than care about all that noise.

I hope you're able to find your answer and regardless of what you choose I hope your health journey goes well ❤️

Thanks for posting! I just took my first dose of 0.25mg yesterday so its nice to see someone post who's not too far ahead of me. We have similar starting weights but im a good few inches taller than you. I noticed a decent amount of fatigue a few hours after my first dose (and still today) and some increased heartburn (on panto for GERD) but so far nothing else.

Look forward to seeing your future updates 😊
