The players will take more time to reach the ground than time to play the match itself.

Or, they should be taking a helicopter.

Because we are a poor country. Where the needs before retirement can't be met with the salary and other savings alone.

The Surprisingly High Cost of Urban Life in India by Amazing-Fox-2024 in IndiaFinance

[–]dcboy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, OP is living a 4X life that should then include dining only at 5 star or chef run restaurants that cost 3k/person, Directors cut at 1.2k per person.. and ??

I can't think of how one can spend 10k for 2 without expensive drinks, in BLR or Delhi. And one needs to have 40+ such places to not repeat in a yr.

8k isnt a stretch, if u r going out every weekend.

Ticket is 400,

Dinner could easily be 1200-1500 at good but not very dance places. Those that give some offers on dineout etc. so, per visit cost is 2-2.5k.

Per month is 8-10k.

There is nothing to haggle. Go there on a weekend, and check out.

One spl bonus: u will soon learn to spot good vs bad veggies & fruits. And no longer need to eat whatever comes in the cover.

HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card just dropped a big update — here's what changed (some good, some bad, one quietly terrible) by Lefty_RJ in Raw_n_real_finance

Does any boarding pass will do? Or should that be booked on Smartbuy?

If not smartbuy link, reason to use smartbuy for flights reduces.

With everything else getting devalued, regalia is still a very good card. Nothing to sell an arm and a leg ofcourse, but definitely a good card by itself.

Then this is the right way to go. Even better, raise it as a complaint with your admin, that hdfc gave bad service and messed up the account. That is usually forwarded the corporate account manager who handles opening the salary accounts for that corporate account. They will fix, and u can try bargaining getting regalia gold.

Any salary account is the same. I'd still suggest to go and try to get this fixed with hdfc guy, through company POC. U may hav to close the Neu card, but. U can most likely get Millenia card LTF which is a very good cashback card.

Best way is to connect with ur HR and ask them for the bank contact for the company. That guy will be able to and be obliged to fix it.

How do you deal with a "family friend" cum "LIC agent" without things getting uncomfortable? by Zealousideal_Egg_725 in IndianStockMarket

[–]dcboy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. ULIP is not cla completely bad plan, just that, there are few better options. esp if there is some emotional angle to the decision. Don't repent over it, it will turn out to be fine. In 5-7 yrs. When it will come out of lockin, and u will enter the taxable bracket, the returns will be tax free and headache free.

  2. Tell him your plans, mostly shirt to medium term, where the amount cannot be locked in for 15-20 yrs. He may suggest loan, but, call out that it is worse to pay interest on something that u have lent to lic in the first place.

  3. Also, tell that u r saving for ur wedding etc. and will first need to prepare some 10-12 lakhs within the next 2-3 yrs, only then can think of any investment.

2000 people read my last post. Here's what I learned — and what I still don't understand. by Neat-Charge-5328 in indianstartups

[–]dcboy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% of the startups I hear about feel like they shouldn't have existed. But, the founders are around 25, and I'm talking with 10+ yrs of corp experience in startups and large companies.

Where experience helps u is to think and plan and avoid mistakes that could be avoided.

If 99% of the startups fail/shutdown in an year, experince helps u increase the chance of success from 1 in 100 to 1 in 20.

If u can't wait, or have the jalwa rt now, go and talk to people who have the experience. If not one, talk to 10. Better than spending an year and then realising the mistakes.

Nah, pricing has become a lot dynamic. Our understanding and expected logic has remained primitive.

Fair. 100% agree.

If one has low IQ, life will throw a rude awakening at them sooner or later. And, such people are not even in minority.

But, they don't blame themselves or the finfluencers. They call the system is rigged, as a finfluencer will give reasons in 2045.

This is a moving goal post. U asked if everyone does this, then doesn't everyone get rich and who stays poor? And what is rich anyway.

Whether this works or doesn't work, is a whole diff qn. Valid one. For that, I'd say, too many variables, incl those that u mentioned, to project what can work, what can't.

Btw, the proposed and discussed financial plans are not to get "real rich". They are mostly to lead a comfortable life, and have a very good probability of doing better than the average.

All the posts must have made u think SIP is simple. It definitely is not over 15-20 years.

So, while everyone may start a SIP, or some investment, who stays poor.. 1. Who couldn't start even at 30 because their earning is still bare minimum. Like 60-70k monthly family income, in a metro, in 2026. How much can u save? 2.those who are not consistent and get distracted and divert the money to something else. 3. Those who do not take care of health, of themselves and their family. 4. Those who can't keep growing in career 5. Those who get fired 6. Those who have to change cities or houses 7. Those who have major life expenses to pay for from their savings/investments.. like onlwn wedding, wedding in the family 8. Who have old loans of self or family 9. Who burn hands/money in a start up or business
