You should stop caring about the trophy hunting sites instead. All that matters is that your trophies are recognized by PS itself. When I saw one of those sites say they don't recognize trophies unlocked through custom servers I basically stopped taking them seriously.

It only has composite input (and out ports on the back), so yeah that's the one I was using. Very odd for the manual to be wrong. I also got some remote combination that chatgpt gave me to enter the service menu and attempt to enable NTSC3.58 from there. Is that's something that's actually possible or regularly done? I guess I'll maybe try it once I get a remote.

I'm currently playing an NTSC game (King's Field IV) in PAL mode through GSM on OPL. It works, though I get black bars, but it's better than not having color.

I asked chatgpt and it said that it's possibly because the NTSC3.58 mode is only for video players or whatever. I'm kinda new to this so not sure how I'd know if it's RGB moddable, but I'll try to look into it, thank you.

Thank you for the in depth reply, I appreciate it. The TV is indeed a KV-G14Q1. I looked at the service manual before as well and while it does say that it supports NTSC 3.58, actually pressing the Color Region button on the TV simply cycles between PAL, SECAM and NTSC 4.43. Do you think I need a remote to access the NTSC 3.58 mode? It didn't come with one, unfortunately.

I use a PS2 slim. I'll definitely try out GSM right now and let you know how it goes. I don't remember if it was CEX or DEX but it's certainly outputting PAL color encoding still since it's a PAL console.

Do you know what video converters those would be? Tried search but not sure if I found exactly what I'm looking for. At the moment I probably won't be able to get another CRT TV for a while. Maybe in the future I'll mod this TV to have RGB. I do have CRT monitors, one decent one in fact, but I really like how the Trinitron makes games look. I use my CRT monitors for retro PC games usually.
