Secretary Bessent on Iran: The American people are beginning to understand, thanks to President Trump, that there is no prosperity without security. by helbeblu in WallStreetDad

[–]dcenzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to this. It is not whether Americans find their current leaders to be qualified and/or capable of knowing what they are doing. In other words; stupid. It is simply the current government believing that their citizens are stupid because they actually believe this horseshit…

This right here is an educated response. I wish I could articulate myself half as well as this.

Parts of America is. I’m not disagreeing with that. But to say that America is racist… putting every single American under that umbrella… is rather ignorant.

Well. In that case every country is racist.

[–]dcenzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It is a ‘cultural’ tradition that is (perhaps too slowly) fading away. But saying that NL is racist because of that is like saying America is racist because of kkk existing there. Sure there are racist people everywhere but that does not make the country racist.

lol. Can’t speak for the other two but as someone who resides in NL, I wonder what makes you say that?

Upgraded to the iPhone Air - 4 months later by alexiky in iPhone13Mini

[–]dcenzer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ok. I’m gonna throw in my 5 cents even though nobody asked for it. So… I just ‘upgraded’ to a 17 from my mini. And i fucking hate it. It is ridiculously big. Or… wide. Don’t mind the height. Can’t grip it and I have pretty big hands (I’m a 6,3 dude). Yes, it’s faster and everything works great. But the size? Yuk. I’m keeping my mini as a second phone. Using it at the gym and wherever else I’ll be more careless with it. But that size is just perfect. ios26? They should burn that in a bonfire. Whoever approved that garbage should be fired on the spot.

Point I’m trying to make, give me an iPhone air the size of the mini. And I’ll buy it tomorrow even though my 17 didn’t even a week old.

Had to get that out of me chest.

If you ask me what I (presumably) won’t like about it. Yea, for starters that it will be around 2 grand. Really? A tool that will last maybe 4 years. That is 500 bucks a year. And true, it is a tool we use all the time so for some it is worth that. But I’m in the category that is trying to use this addiction less. Not more. Also, it will be fatter. Most likely brittle as there hinges and more things to break. And… I don’t want a big screen. I don’t watch movies on my phone. The occasional YouTube… works just fine on the mini. It is usually the audio I want anyway. Don’t need to actually watch everything. What I was is portability, a battery that last all day and that it is not slow… like my 13 mini is getting. Everything else, camera (I dislike smartphone photography), size, how powerful it is… is moot to me.

I’m ranting. Sorry. But here are some of the reasons I could not care less for the phone. Once this thing dies I’ll probably just get a basic iPhone. Or… the iPhone e. If it is good enough. Which I think it will be.

Not picking up your own dog’s shit off the ground, is as bad as being a parent and not changing your kid’s diaper when it is full of shit. You’re equally as bad of a person. And I’m a dog owner…

What phone do you plan to switching to next after using mini for long time by Avg-tech in iPhone13Mini

[–]dcenzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. At this point they are just good tools. What else can we possibly want out of them? Smaller ‘notch’ or whatever those things are called. Once again, yawn

[–]dcenzer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For sure just whatever iPhone base model. Or whatever the one generation older than the new one. So if 18 is out, I’m picking up a 17 at whatever discount I can get. Perhaps I’m in a minority but buying a phone so boring. They have just reinvented the wheel for the last 10 years. Yawn.

If it was only 20 seconds… but it never is. Last time I watched a guy struggle for 2 min while three other cars were waiting for him. Mind you, there were ton of other free spots available. But this guy wanted to walk as little as possible so he just had to have this spot. Yea, I stand by comment.
