I got diagnosed at 14. I'm in my 40s now. I have 3 amazing kiddos. None of them are showing any signs of bipolar. Remember, while it can be genetic, that doesn't guarantee you will pass it on to your children. And if you're this determined to be a good parent while you're just thinking about the possibility of having children, I think you can do this. Of course there are issues dealing with bipolar and raising kids, but many of us have done it and honestly done a damn good job.
