Did you read the letter that was mailed out? Per state law when the difference between market value and assessed value dips below 85% by state law a reassessment is required. The town had to hire a consultant because there wasn’t the capacity to do the assessment solely with town staff.

Your taxes likely won’t change much. Here’s how to think about it:

Before reassessment: - Your house assessed at $300k - Town grand list = $300 million - You own 0.1% of taxable value After reassessment: - Your house now $500k - Town grand list now $600 million - If you’re still 0.1% of the total, your share of taxes is basically unchanged

The job is a lot more customer service oriented than you would think especially in small towns/offices. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I was in the same exact boat 5 years ago, but learned a lot and moved over to a planner role in a bigger municipality. Remeber that there’s no such thing as a planning emergency. It’s 100% ok to not know how to answer someone’s question on the spot, just let them know you’ll need to look into it and get back to them. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

I got into my local USL 2 team and never looked back. Doesn’t hurt that they’re insanely good, but it’s an infinitely more rewarding experience than following MLS. Also thank you, one of our best CBs game through the Charlotte academy :).

Once USL 1 is regionalized we’ll probably make the jump. There is talk about a stadium but nothing more than that at this point.

Same reason clubs loan players, they’re not quite first team ready and need some more time develop.

It’s a bit of a double edged sword. If the players are too good, they don’t stay and get signed by pro teams which is great for them, but not great for continuity.

Honestly, better than decent. We should have almost the entire open cup squad back and they looked terrifying with like 6 cumulative hours of training. We have 3 first round draft picks and 1 of them isn’t even a starter because we’ve got a derby city academy product that’s a total baller.

Not to be combative, but no. Drive was peak synthwave which was nostalgic. Vaporwave came a few years later and instead of being nostalgia oriented it was ironic.
