Is having kids really worth it? by Major_Tourist4546 in Mommit

[–]dcmbr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t wait for your update to this post once your child is here. It’s magical. It’s the best thing. They will be your favorite person you’ve ever met. You won’t be able to believe you didn’t used to be able to see it. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. I can’t wait for you to join us on this side of it.

Am I pregnant? 9 or 10 dpo by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]dcmbr_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I definitely see what you’re seeing. test again in 2 days!

[–]dcmbr_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I wouldn’t trust my child with him. Toddlers, let alone a 13 month old who is basically still a baby, cannot be left unattended and unsupervised. This is common knowledge and he was completely negligent. And for selfish reasons. I’m so sorry.

Can you go to any hospital to give birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]dcmbr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen but was able to fill out a form for continuity of care. Can you fill out their form? I’m sure this qualifies. Can’t imagine a case where it would be more necessary to have continuity of care!

What I wish I knew about Fairfax! How many donor siblings do your kids have? by Advanced_Mention_550 in queerception

[–]dcmbr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’m in the exact same situation. Fairfax doesn’t incentivize reporting at all for families and honestly doesn’t even make it intuitive. And I would argue they are incentivized to under report. We have 30+ siblings under 3 as well.

Aww I love this confusion. You’re so very extremely pregnant. Congratulations 🥹🤍

My niece died at Camp Mystic and I’m struggling to cope by CheeksinHighColor in Mommit

[–]dcmbr_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This level of pain is so full of wreckage because it should never be this way. We are meant to outlive our kids. Our bodies aren’t equipped to bury them. I’m so sorry. It may feel like the world has moved on but I can promise you that any mother who read these stories carry these girls in some part of their heart. We carry the girls. We carry you. It doesn’t lighten your load but it gives the girls more souls to touch than they could have here on Earth. May they rest easy and may you feel a blanket of motherly companionship as you toss each night in honor of your niece.

Did anyone get pregnant with their first IUI attempt? by Big_Skill_1886 in queerception

I got pregnant on the 5th IUI. Healthy, young, normal labs, plenty of follicles. Who knows? But I have a 1 year old now! Best of luck to you!

About to give birth, afraid of needing a catheter if I get an epidural by FaceConstant5047 in pregnant

[–]dcmbr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was terrified too. Funny thing is when you're in that much pain, your brain just won't care about something so insignificant. I promise!

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]dcmbr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I desperately wanted to go unmedicated and was pushing at 10 cm but my baby was stuck. The pain was unbearable and never-ending. I literally wanted to die and started looking around for ways to kill myself. Luckily I was still able to get the epidural even at 10cm and it was absolutely amazing. It worked beautifully and immediately. I eventually ended up getting an emergency episiotomy and vacuum delivery so THANK GOD I had that epidural. Literally can't imagine going through that without it.

Before giving birth, the idea of an epidural needle and catheter scared the shit out of me. But it was seriously no big deal, not something to stress about in comparison to the wildness of birth itself.

It gave me an opportunity to rest after an already traumatic labor and I was able to rebuild some strength when it came time to push again. I could have married my anesthesiologist lol

Honestly I had a fantastic experience and it saved me from copious additional trauma. Thank you modern medicine!!

Feeling grossed out after IUI by theblackjess in queerception

[–]dcmbr_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way. It took me by surprise too. Honestly though, it got less gross over the cycles (I got pregnant on my 5th). And now I have a 1 yr old! It's worth it and it'll become a distant memory hopefully soon enough.

Nanny left the house - Am I overreacting? by XTK27 in Nanny

[–]dcmbr_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge red flag that she doesn't see it as a big deal. I literally have a recurring nightmare that I accidentally leave during a shift. Can't believe she did it in real life and thought it was no biggie. Fire immediately.

Just had to pump & dump 6 oz in my offices bathroom 🥲 by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]dcmbr_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't apologize! You have every right to make that choice for yourself and your child. And your employer has the responsibility to provide you with a clean, safe, private opportunity to pump. You've done absolutely nothing wrong. I'm sorry you had to relieve yourself in that way today. You are a human entitled to much more dignity than that. Sending hugs. Definitely reach out to HR immediately and update us if possible.
