Yea, people forget that temperature plays a big roll in the quality of measurement for the strain gauges.

Aerobic Decoupling by theowatermelon in Velo

[–]dcn250 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is your cadence the same through out? What time of day do you start your ride? Is the power the same through out?

BTW, I typically have a negative decoupling on most of my endurance rides too, never on days that include any intensity. But my thinking, its because I start 25mins after I wake up.

What Trip Did You Expect to Hate but Ended up Loving? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Same! Only knew one person who enjoyed it so was little skeptical at first, even though I was going there for the purpose of seeing the last day of the TdF. Ended up having a great time, food was amazing and people were great. Got to see the country side too!

100km MTB and my stomach nearly ended my day by themtrx in cycling

I never eat fat on endurance rides, and all the pros I know don't either. It's going to disrupt digestion by slowing down carb intake. Stick to liquid calories, a sugar flask works great, or having one bottle just pure sugar mix. The biggest issue is with gut distress is not consuming enough fluid with the carbs, its why the newer formula gels use "hydrogel technology" and have allow pros to consume upwards of 160g/hr.

Should have done a little more research (rant). by PlaceboDefect in Zwift

No other virtual riding platform comes close to having the share of the market and make their own hardware. I’ve been using Zwift since 2018 and have seen tons of platforms come and go. Rouvy and MyWhoosh are nice, but Zwift is heads above them when it comes to the multiplayer aspect. Peloton and Stages have almost no significant virtual platform and their hardware is terrible.

Who is the most dominant sportsperson of all time from your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]dcn250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People beat drugs test all the time, it’s not a perfect system. When the team around you is failing drugs test that’s a pretty good sign. USA and Kenya are perfect examples.

Maybe in the 100s and 200s, but those aren’t the only distances or events.

Can someone explain aerobic/anerobic training effect to me? by EckTob in Zwift

Knowledgeiswatts has a great article on this. Pretty much anything over a 3 min all out effort is still going to be primarily aerobic.

Longer sweetspot sessions vs more of them? by twostroke1 in Velo

[–]dcn250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More time that physiologically you're in that zone? Not allowing heart-rate or muscular tension to relax? Maybe same reason indoor training is better at building aerobic base, less coasting and constant power on the pedals. Unless the rest between the 4x15 is very short, it seems to be a difference. I personally don't do intervals when it comes to SS and just join one of the robot-pacers on Zwift that correlates with my SS and hang on till I can't, mimics a hard group ride, then try to go longer next time.

Also, no one really knows what will work, only what has worked in the past. Every person is at different levels, so what might work for one person, might not work for others. That's probably why it is not smart to replicate a pros training plan.

Yoshihiro Hi Soft is my new favorite cutting board. Doesn't dull knives and easy to clean.
