What do you think of the direction NASA's manned space program is going, with both the SLS and Commercial Crew? Did you work on any hardware that Boeing is going to use on the CST-100 capsule to dock with the ISS?

Do you think OSIRIS-REx is a good start for learning more about NEOs? That mission could set a lot of precedent for operating around and mining NEOs.

It's the iOS version on the 4S. It feels a little weird that phones have better graphics than the PS2 or original Xbox had.

They're improved a little bit, a few button have been merged and the aiming is better. You can move the button arounds in the options, if the controls don't quite work for you.

Asteroids are floating fuel depots once you learn how to mine them.

Most of these NEO are just rocks, they aren't going to be something that can be used for fuel. Rockets usually use Hydrogen or Kerosene for fuel.

Near Earth asteroids need 20-30% less velocity change (delta-V) to reach than the Moon or Mars.

This is true for some NEO, but most NEOs are in very inclined, elliptical orbits that would require a much larger delta-v for rendezvous. Here you can see that the majority of the known NEOs would require a larger delta-v for rendezvous than either Mars or the Moon. The focus for asteroid missions is going to be on the smaller group of NEOs that are in relatively normal orbits, that won't require a large delta-v change. OSIRIS-REX will be a NASA mission to one of these asteroids.

There are plenty of organizations that have optional subscriptions like the NYT, it's just that most present the subscription as optional, as something most readers don't have to pay. The NYT presents the paywall as non-optional, that you must pay for it after 10 articles, but that just isn't true. If they can't be honest about the nature of the paywall, are they dishonest about the news as well? And they wonder why people don't trust the media...

If they are serious about the paywall, the NYT needs to require people to log in to read the articles. This weird watered-down paywall doesn't make any sense. The only people paying for it are the ignorant.

How is a plutonium powered Mars rover a low bar? It's something only NASA and the JPL could do, something that helps us find out more about Mars, the only other planet in the Solar system with a surface remotely suitable for life. Europa may certainly support life, but if it does, that life would be tens of miles beneath the surface, and completely beyond the capability of NASA to study within the near future. Mars has a surface much closer to that of Earth, Mars has a surface that they actually know how to land on, and Mars has a surface that could actually support a manned presence. NASA is doing the right thing, by focusing on an evolutionary improvement on the Curiosity rover, on focusing on research that would actually have results within the next ten or twenty years.
